Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
God, as the ultimate authority, has the power to show mercy and harden hearts. He has chosen us, and we have the opportunity to choose Him back. His love and mercy are gifts that He freely gives to us.
You know how in art class, the teacher gives you a lump of clay and you get to shape it into whatever you want? Well, that's kind of like what God does with us. We're like the clay, and He's the potter. He's the one in charge, shaping us into who He wants us to be.
Think about it: God, the creator of the universe, chose you. You! That's pretty wild, right? But it's true. He made you in His image, but sin kind of messed that up. But don't worry, God had a plan to fix it.
We're like the clay, and He's the potter. He's the one in charge, shaping us into who He wants us to be.
Now, let's check out Romans 9:14-25. This part of the Bible tells us that God's the boss. He decides who He shows mercy to and who He hardens. We might not always get why He does what He does, but we can trust that He's got it all figured out.
Remember the story of Saul in Acts 9:1-6? This guy was bad news for Christians, but God chose to reveal Himself to Saul and use him to spread the good news about Jesus. This just goes to show that God can use anyone, no matter what they've done in the past.
Here's the thing: God's love and mercy aren't something we can earn. It's not about what we do or don't do. God loves us just as much right now as He ever will. His love and mercy are gifts that He freely gives to us.
Before we were even born, God chose us. He knew us, formed us, and set us apart for His purposes. This is true for each one of us.
So, what does this mean for you? Well, it means that God's got a plan for your life. His love for you isn't based on anything you've done. He chose to love you. And He wants to use you to do amazing things.
So, I challenge you this week to remember that you're chosen by God. No matter what's going on in your life, God can and will use you for amazing things. It might not always be easy, but it will be worth it.
1. How does it make you feel to know that God chose you?
2. How can you choose God back in your daily life?
3. Can you think of a time when you felt God shaping you for His purposes?
4. How can you show others that they are chosen by God?
