INTRODUCTION

Life sometimes makes people feel abandoned, forgotten, or insignificant. There are moments when it seems as though even God is silent, and prayers go unanswered. In Isaiah 49:14-16, Israel cried out, “The Lord has forsaken me, and my Lord has forgotten me.” But God responded with a powerful assurance, comparing His love to that of a mother, saying, "Can a woman forget her nursing child and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely, they may forget, yet I will not forget you."

This passage reminds us that God's love and faithfulness are unfailing. People may abandon us, circumstances may be tough, and trials may last longer than expected, but God never forgets His own. He has engraved us on the palms of His hands, meaning we are constantly before Him. In this sermon, we will explore reasons why God cannot forget His children and how we can rest in this divine assurance.

1. GOD REMEMBERS HIS COVENANT

a) God is a covenant-keeping God (Psalm 105:8)

He remembers His promises and fulfils them in His time.

b) He does not forget His children (Malachi 3:16-17)

Those who fear the Lord are in His book of remembrance.

c) He is faithful to His word (Numbers 23:19)

What God has spoken concerning you, He will bring to pass.

d) Even when it seems delayed, God is working (Habakkuk 2:3)

The vision may tarry, but in the right season, it will come to pass.

e) Biblical Example: God Remembered Noah (Genesis 8:1)

After the flood, God remembered Noah and caused the waters to recede.

2. GOD REMEMBERS HIS CHILDREN IN TIMES OF TROUBLE

a) God does not abandon His own (Psalm 9:10)

Those who seek Him will never be forsaken.

b) He delivers from afflictions (Psalm 34:19)

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers them all.

c) God hears the cry of the distressed (Exodus 3:7-8)

The Israelites in Egypt cried out, and God remembered them.

d) Even in suffering, He is present (Isaiah 43:2)

When you pass through the fire and waters, He will be with you.

e) Biblical Example: God Remembered Hannah (1 Samuel 1:19-20)

After years of barrenness, God answered her prayer and gave her Samuel.

3. GOD REMEMBERS YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE ENGRAVED ON HIS HANDS

a) You are precious to God (Matthew 10:29-31)

He knows even the number of hairs on your head.

b) He is mindful of you (Psalm 8:4-5)

God values you more than anything in creation.

c) He carries you in His hands (Deuteronomy 33:27)

His everlasting arms hold and protect you.

d) He watches over you continually (Psalm 121:3-4)

He neither slumbers nor sleeps concerning you.

e) Biblical Example: The Prodigal Son’s Father Remembered Him (Luke 15:20)

Though the son went astray, the father never forgot him and welcomed him back.

4. GOD REMEMBERS YOU FOR DIVINE TURNAROUND

a) Delay is not denial (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

God makes all things beautiful in His time.

b) He turns mourning into joy (Psalm 30:5)

Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

c) God restores lost years (Joel 2:25-26)

He compensates for what the enemy has stolen.

d) His thoughts towards you are good (Jeremiah 29:11)

His plans will lead you to a glorious future.

e) Biblical Example: God Remembered Joseph (Genesis 41:39-41)

After years of suffering, God elevated Joseph to the throne in Egypt.

CONCLUSION

God cannot forget you because His love is everlasting, His covenant is unbreakable, and His faithfulness never fails. Even in difficult seasons, He is working behind the scenes, setting the stage for a divine turnaround. If you are feeling forgotten, be encouraged—God remembers you, and your appointed time of manifestation is coming!

No matter the situation, keep trusting in the Lord, for He has engraved you on the palms of His hands. Rest in this truth and wait for His perfect timing.
