Message Point: Jesus broke down the walls that divided us from God and now we are members of God’s household.
Focus Passage: Ephesians 2:11-22
Introduction: Great Wall of China, Berlin Wall, Walls in Africa.
I. Jews Verses Gentiles
a. Physical/Spiritual division in Temple
i. Gentiles were foreigners to God’s covenant
ii. Gentiles were excluded from citizenship in Israel
iii. Gentiles were without hope (no promises, no hope; when you die you die)
iv. Gentiles were without God.
b. Social division in life
II. People verses God
a. Spiritual division because of sin
III. God breaks down the wall through Jesus. Jesus is our peace
a. When Jesus died, the veil of the temple was torn from top to bottom.
