1. The Appropriation of God's Word - 161 Princes have persecuted me without a cause:

but my heart standeth in awe of thy word.

His Trouble - Princes - own son,

His Travail - have persecuted me

His Trial - without a cause:

His Trust - but my heart standeth in awe

His Triumph - of thy word. - Because God’s Word -

Subdues Fear 161

Rejoices the heart 162,

Provokes Love 163,

Inspires Praise 164,

Instills Peace 165,

and Sustains Hope in the inner man 166

2. The Appreciation of God's Word

162 I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil.

A Personal Joy - I rejoice,

A Pure Joy - at thy word,

A Promised Joy - as one that findeth,

A Priceless Joy - great spoil.

3. The Adoration of God's Word

163 I hate and abhor lying: but thy law do I love.

It's Separation - The double negative - 163 I hate and abhor (detest)

It's Sanctification - I hate and abhor lying:

It's Subjugation - but thy law -

It's - A Revealing Message 1 John 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

A Reproving Message 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

A Redeeming Message 7 but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Ruth 3:7 And when Boaz had eaten and drunk, and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of corn: and she came softly, and uncovered his feet, and laid her down. Redemption is found in lying at the feet of the Redeemer.

It's Satisfaction - but thy law do I love.

4. The Acclamation of God's Word -

164 Seven times a day do I praise thee because of thy righteous judgments.

The Constancy of Praise - Seven times a day (Every Day)

The Conformity of Praise - do I praise thee

The Consistency of Praise - because of thy righteous judgments.

5. The Application of God's Word -

165 Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

It's Peace - Great peace, It's Prize - have they

It's Price - which love thy law:, It's Protection - and nothing

It's Prevention - shall offend them - or make them stumble.

6. The Anticipation of God's Word -

166 Lord, I have hoped for thy salvation, & done thy commandments

It's Sovereignty - Lord,

It's Surety - I have hoped

It's Supremacy - for thy salvation,

It's Security - and done thy commandments.

7. The Assimilation of God's Word -

167 My soul hath kept thy testimonies; and I love them exceedingly.

It's Internal - My soul

It's Eternal - hath kept thy testimonies;

It's Supernal - and I love them exceedingly.

8. The Authentication of God's Word -

168 I have kept thy precepts and thy testimonies: for all my ways are before thee.

His Resolve - I have kept

His Regard - thy precepts and thy testimonies:

His Reward - for all my ways are before thee.

Job 23:10 he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold

Eliezer - Genesis 24:27 And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the Lord led me to the house of my master’s brethren.
