TEXT: ISAIAH 29: 5-7 (NLT).

“But suddenly, your ruthless enemies will be crushed like the finest of dust. Your many attackers will be driven away

like chaff before the wind. Suddenly, in an instant, I, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, will act for you with thunder and earthquake and great noise, with whirlwind and storm and consuming fire. All the nations fighting against Jerusalem will vanish like a dream! Those who are attacking her walls

will vanish like a vision in the night."

SOLDIERS OF CHRIST

All believers are soldiers of Christ (2 Tim 2:3). We are involved in spiritual warfare with Satan and the kingdom of darkness. "We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places" (Eph 6:12). The good news is that God is on our side. He fights for us. The arsenals at God's disposal are awesome. He can use any element of creation to defend his children or destroy their enemies. Some of these are listed in Isaiah 29:6:

(1) Thunder (2) Earthquake (3) Great noise (4) Whirlwind (5) Storm (6) Fire

WEAPONS AT GOD'S DISPOSAL

1. THUNDER

The voice of the Almighty God is thunder. He can speak in a still small voice (1 Kings 19:12), but he also can split the earth with his voice (Ps 77:18). The Lord can fight for his children with his voice of thunder. "Just as Samuel was sacrificing the burnt offering, the Philistines arrived to attack Israel. But the LORD spoke with a mighty voice of thunder from heaven that day, and the Philistines were thrown into such confusion that the Israelites defeated them." The thunder of God will visit all that war against you in Jesus name.

2. EARTHQUAKE

The Lord can use earthquake to fight for his children or deliver them from the bondage of the enemy as He did for Paul and Silas in Acts 16:26. "And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed." The Lord will send an earthquake to shake the foundation of your problems and set you free in Jesus name.

3. GREAT NOISE

God can use anything to discomfit his enemies, even noise. The Syrian army heard a great noise from God and fled with terror. "For the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host... and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their asses, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life" (2 Kings 7:6-7). The mighty wall of Jericho fell flat as the children of Israel made a great noise unto the Lord (Joshua 6:20). Every wall of Jericho standing as a hindrance before you will fall flat as you shout Hallelujah in Jesus name.

4. WHIRLWIND

The fury of the Lord is released as whirlwind upon the head of the wicked (Jer 23:19). People who invest in trouble will reap the dividend of God's whirlwind (Hos 8:7). The Lord delivered the children of Israel from Pharoah by blasting the waters of the red sea open with a mighty wind for them to pass through, but the same ferocious winds swallowed the Egyptian in the waters of the red sea.

"Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters" (Exo 15:10). The Lord will make every persistent enemies of your soul like chaff, He will blow them away with His whirlwind, they will sink like lead in the pool of their evil schemes in Jesus name.

5. STORM

Our God is a great refuge from evil storms. He calms the storm in the life of his children. "He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves" (Ps 107:29). In Mark 4:37-38, the Lord calmed a raging storm threatening to drown his disciples. He spoke to the storm and there was a great calm. However, when the Lord raises a storm, no one can put it to rest (Ezek 13:13-14). I speak to every storm in your life, in the name of above every other name - Jesus - peace, be still. The Lord will raise an endless storm in the camp of your enemies in Jesus name.

6. FIRE

Our God is both a refining fire (Mal 3:2) and a consuming fire (Deut 4:24). He purifies those who seek his mercy with coals of fire but consumes those who oppose him with unquenchable fire. Those who stand for righteousness, he protects from the fiery furnace of Satan (Dan 3:24-26) but all who spun his offer of salvation will spend eternity in the lake of fire (Rev 21:8). The cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were utterly consumed by fire from heaven because of their acts of wickedness (Gen 19:24-25). Elijah called down fire from heaven to consume soldiers sent to arrest him (2 Kgs 1:10). The God who destroys with fire also protects with fire. God protected Elisha with chariots of fire round about from the army of Syria (2 Kgs 6:17). The fire of God will be a hedge of protection round about you and your family in Jesus name. The Consuming Fire will consume evertything in your life that does not glorify his name in Jesus name.
