I. THE POOR WIDOW SHOWS HER COMMITMENT TO GOD (V.42)

A.She was not hindered to come to God by her present situation (v.42a)

“And the poor widow came”

a. Willingly

b. Boldly

B. She was not ashamed to give her few offerings to God (v.42b)

“She ‘put in’ two lepta”

Two lepta is equivalent to a fraction of penny (NIV) or a cent (NASB)

II. THE POOR WIDOW SHOWS HER FAITH IN GOD (V.44)

A. She is not afraid to give her ALL although she is poor (v.44b)

B. She is more concerned of the things of God than of herself (v.44b)

III. THE POOR WIDOW SHOWS HER TOTAL TRUST IN GOD(V.44b)

A. She gave out of her poverty (v.44b)

B. She gave all that she had to live on (v.44b)

“Entrusting herself completely to God”
