Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
Prioritize God's word in our lives, hold onto the truth it provides, and share this truth with others.
You know how when you're super thirsty, nothing tastes better than a cold glass of water? Imagine you're in the desert, and you've been walking for hours under the hot sun. You're parched, your throat is dry, and you're desperate for a drink. Suddenly, you see a water bottle in the distance. You'd do anything to get to that water, right? That's how we should feel about the truth in God's word. We should be desperate for it, thirsty for it, and willing to do anything to get it.
Paul, in Romans 7:15, talks about how he struggles with doing what he knows he should do. We can all relate to that, right? We know we should read the Bible, but sometimes we just don't feel like it. Let's ask God to give us a thirst for His word, just like we'd thirst for water in a desert.
We should be desperate for the truth in God's word, thirsty for it, and willing to do anything to get it.
Proverbs 23:23 tells us to buy the truth and not sell it. That means we should hold onto the truth we find in the Bible and not let anything or anyone make us let go of it. The world will try to sell us on its values, but we need to hold onto God's truth. Remember the woman at the well in John 4? She was looking for satisfaction in all the wrong places, but Jesus offered her living water - the only thing that could truly satisfy her. That's what we need to do - cling to Jesus, who is the Word of God in the flesh.
Once we've got this truth, we can't keep it to ourselves. Jesus tells us in Matthew 28:18-20 to go and make disciples, sharing the truth with others. This isn't just for pastors or missionaries - it's for all of us. Sharing the truth with others not only helps them, but it also strengthens our own faith and reminds us of how God has worked in our lives.
So here's the deal: if you're tempted to put worldly stuff before God's truth, today's the day to make a change. God's word is the only thing that can give us real, abundant life. Pray for a heart that's open to the gospel and a hunger for God's word. Once you've got that truth, look for chances to share it with others. It could be as simple as knowing what the Bible says, living it out, and sharing your own story of how God has changed you. It's awesome to share the gospel with others, and it'll make your own faith even stronger. Be ready for opportunities to share the truth this week.

2. How can we hold onto the truth in a world that often values different things?
3. What are some practical ways we can share the truth with others?
