Question: What does this mean?
Pentecost makes this promise: If you are in Christ, God Spirit will speak through you!
What Does This Mean:
1) Pentecost is a historically important day!
Exodus 20:18
Pentecost was one of the busiest days of the year in Jerusalem:
„Ñ Because it was one of the three feast that all Jewish men were required to appear in the city for.
„Ñ Because it cause the city to swell from a hundred thousand to over a million.
2) Pentecost was a launching point for the church! Vs. 1
God placed His church right in the center of one of the largest cities at its busiest times of the year!
Question: Consider where God has placed you?
3) Pentecost marked the empowering of the Holy Spirit! Vs. 2-4
The Holy Spirit Fell:
„Ñ Suddenly!
„Ñ Violently!
„Ñ And Individually!
John 3:8 ¡§The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can¡¦t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can¡¦t explain how people are born of the Spirit.¡¨ (NLT)
4) Pentecost displays the plan of God! Vs. 5-11
When people are confronted with the power of the Holy Spirit they will ask, ¡§Whatever could this mean?¡¨
Galatians 6:4 ¡§Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that.¡¨ (The Message)
