Gather Stones To Build The Altars
Contributed by Samuel M on Jul 15, 2024 (message contributor)
Summary: All over this land, God could see the broken state of the church altars and the lack of fire in the pulpits.
In a vision, a young man was taken to a church. There were many people in this church, and a preacher preached from the pulpit. The church looked very beautiful from the outside, but the altar and pews were broken and damaged. The preacher did not realise that the altar was broken and needs to be repaired, but he continued to preach from the broken altar. God saw the broken state of the altar and began picking up stones to repair the altar. God was doing it all alone. The preacher was busy preaching, while God was gathering stones, preparing the altar, and making it ready for the fire to fall.
All over this land, God could see the broken state of the church altars and the lack of fire in the pulpits. People's lives remain unchanged because the altars are broken and there is no fire in the pulpits. Preachers and ministries are expanding physically in terms of infrastructure and buildings, but they are unaware of the broken state of their altars. With broken altars, they are expanding their ministries. The church appears to be beautiful from the outside, but inside its lukewarm, and the altars are broken. Without an altar, the fire of God cannot fall. God is about to send his fire, but there are no altars where the fire can fall. It’s time to gather stones along with God to repair and restore the broken altars.
Throughout the scripture, God’s fire comes on prepared altars. On Mount Carmel, Elijah first repaired the broken altar, and then the fire fell. With damaged and broken altars, how can you expect God's fire to fall? You prepare the altars; God will send the fire. People are wavering in their faith because the fire of God is missing in the pulpits. During Elijah's time on Mount Carmel, people wavered between two opinions -whether God is Baal or Jehovah. When the fire fell, the Israelites fell on their faces; and they said, “The LORD, He is God! The LORD, He is God!”.
Once the fire fell, instantly it removed all confusion and doubts regarding God and His nature. Today if you are struggling with doubts, doctrines, confusions, depressions, the only remedy is the fire of God. Once we get a glimpse or touch of God’s fire, it instantly consumes all our doubts and confusions and will set you on fire. God’s fire creates an instant change.
God's fire does not require any combustible substance or fuel to set something on fire. God's fire will primarily set hearts on fire. During Elijah's time, God's fire sets the altar (which was severely soaked in water) on fire. God's fire has the power to ignite even the most dead, dry, lifeless, and rocky hearts. On Mount Carmel, God's fire burnt until the animal on the altar was consumed. The bush was on fire during the Burning Bush experience until God revealed his plan to Moses. When God's fire sets something on fire, it will burn until God's plan is fulfilled. One touch of God's fire makes a huge instant difference.
In this season, God is calling many young people to first repair and prepare the church's altars. It’s time to gather stones and repair the altars. God is about to send His consuming fire on his prepared altars. Once again, the churches will be on fire.
