Summary: sermon for a veteran who served 20 years and retired working on railroad. He was a Sunday School teacher 25 years .

Funeral Tracy Stover Wallace and Wallace Rainelle 2 Timothy 2:4:6-8,

1. Many of us wake up and as a result of stuff today , I need a break, this week has drove me crazy,

• I cant do this no more. This is a day that is hard to live with Christian attributes.

• These things happen when life throws curve balls announcement of disease that threatens life. A unexpected bill, a loved one dies. Etc...

• When these times happen we simply are ready to give up life, give up hope, give up church, or maybe give up being Christian or just saying I can’t Christian today.

2. Tracy was a strong man a patriotic man and a great Christian

• Tracy served in the army 20 years I don’t think a man does that unless he loves His Country.

• Tracy apparently was a man of strong family ethics or values after serving 20 years he also worked to support his family another 20 years by working for the railroad.

• Tracy was Married to Kay for 38 years. He was a faithful husband, father, grandfather he was a friend to all and loved by his community. He worked hard even in spare time he was a handy man.

• Tracy also served in the Crawley Baptist church as Sunday school teacher for 25 years.

• Tracy never gave up he was a fighter he wasn’t one to say I can’t Christian today no not Tracy

• He would try to be the best Christian every day. I gather his moto was “ nothing worth having comes easy, dreams don’t work unless you do, there are no short cuts you have to work for it. I think Tracy was like that.

3. I believe the Apostle Paul Christian-ed every day, every hour. Every minute, every second

• In the text I read to us Paul not only said but more importantly lived Christian “speaking with all boldness, Christ will be exalted now as always in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ for me to die is gain”

• Do you think Paul ever got up some morning and declared, “I can’t Christian today.”

• Paul, apparently sensing the end of his life drawing near, wrote, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

• Paul got up every day I can serve my Lord this day and I can Christian today!” Tomorrow, and every day. I believe that is the same way Tracy lived his life

4. I think this is the way Tracy lived He might say to his family today

• Be a worker Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved by him, a worker who has no need to be ashamed” (2:15).

• Be a Follower no matter what others do. “What is that to you, “follow me” Jesus said during a breakfast conversation with Peter on the shores of Galilee.

• Tracy might say to us today as Paul said to Timothy Paul tells Timothy about those who can’t Christian certain days, circumstances this is your responsibility, duty, and obligation: 2Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season. “It doesn’t matter if you have issues with something

• When you feel you can’t Christian keep your head endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, and

• When you believe its better not to Christian “Fight the good fight, finish well, keep the faith,

• Tracy may say I have fought the good fight I have kept the Faith and because I Christen-ed everyday I am one of those saints who will go marching in . Amen
