Welcome : Friends, we have gathered here to praise God and to witness to our faith as we celebrate the life of Kathy Goodell We come together in grief, acknowledging our human loss. May God grant us grace, that in pain we may find comfort, in sorrow hope, in death resurrection.

Prayer: O God, you are ever more ready to hear than we are to pray. You know our needs before we ask, and our ignorance in asking. Give to us now your grace, that as we shrink before the mystery of death, we may see the light of eternity. Speak to us once more your solemn message of life and of death. Help us to live as those who are prepared to die. And when our days here are accomplished, enable us to die as those who go forth to live, so that living or dying, our life may be in you, and that nothing in life or in death will be able to separate us

from your great love in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.

Psalm 121:1-8 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

2My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

3He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

4Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.

6The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

7The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

8The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

What a sweet sweet lady is Kathy Goodall Psalm 23

1. You could tell that Kathy loved life and God gave her a full life

• She was able to garden which she loved. Travel all 50 states and 7 foreign countries

• Member of the Eastern Star Lived to be a hundred years old,

• She so enjoyed the sun room at Glenwood facility often could find her there enjoying the sun, watching the birds, ducks on the lake.

2. God gave Kathy Life

• God gave Kathy a life that she loved, she was very independent person and she was straight forward with you. She was also very friendly type person

• God gave Kathy life which she adored and cherished.

3. God gave Kathy guidance the Lord was her shepherd

• The psalmist says “ The Lord is my shepherd” God was Kathy’s shepherd he gave her direction. He gave her wisdom, uniqueness, he gave her life. She looked unto the hill form whench cometh her help

• From reading the obituary I find that Kathy was always involved in church LERONA UMC, CARR MEMORIAL and Eastern Star. Certainly The Lord was her shepherd. And her keeper

• No doubt God was the one who restored her soul when doubt may have slipped in. God brought her light in darkened days, It is God who never slumbers nor sleeps His eye is always on His sparrows

• No doubt God directed her life in a pathway of right type living

4. God gave Kathy contentment

• The text share with us, “The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want,” Kathy seemed very at ease with all circumstances often at visits I would say how you doing Kathy I am fine.

• The psalmist said “He makes we lay down in green pasture”. Kathy had basically all she really needed or wanted she was content.

• I am sure Kathy had many disruptions and uncomfortable times in her life but she seemed able to handle all those times like the psalmist says “He Leadeth me beside the still waters” she believed God calms the chaos.

5. God gave Kathy long life here, but God also gave Kathy an eternal life as well

• Kathy might say I have forgotten many things over the years but I would say God has never forgotten me (Sugar) story of sugar. Kathy shared with me how she fed the squirrels, deer, dogs, birds, and cats. She explained how she fed them and named each one of them, and just like her cats name she told me she named them all "Sugar". She told me why she named them Sugar, she said so I will not forget their names.

• God has never forgotten my name it is written in the lamb’s book of life.

• It is written in the book “My help cometh from the lord” “The lord is my Keeper” there is Lamb at the center of the throne that will be my shepherd; he will lead me to springs of living water.
