Reathel June Weierman

Celebration Of Life

Welcome

On behalf of the family - I would like to both welcome you and thank you for being here to honor the life of REATHAL JUNE WEIERMAN.

And let me say, that you have no idea how much your presence today, means to them. The family will never forget that you took the time & made the effort to show them, how much you care about them and how much you love REATHAL.

What I’d like to do at this time is to read some scripture - my reason for doing this is because the Word of God is powerful - it is living and it is active. And God says of His word - in Isaiah;

As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater. So is my word that goes out from my mouth; It will not return to me empty BUT will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. - Is 55:11,12

AND TODAY – I am confident that God’s Word will do just that… accomplish what He desires and achieve His purpose - as I read several passages of Scripture.

THE – first one I am sure is very familiar to all of us (Psalm 23) AND – at a time like this, the beauty and power (of these 3000 year old) are: unmistakable, breathtaking and reassuring…

NOW PICTURE – in your mind David, with all of the struggles he had been through (wars, fighting, conflict, sickness) writing these words…

Psalm 23

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,

he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul.

He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil,

for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me

in the presence of my enemies.

You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

6 Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

The next is Psalm 46

God is our refuge and strength,

an ever-present help in trouble.

2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way

and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,

3 though its waters roar and foam

and the mountains quake with their surging.

4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,

the holy place where the Most High dwells.

5 God is within her, she will not fall;

God will help her at break of day.

7 The LORD Almighty is with us;

the God of Jacob is our fortress.

"Be still, and know that I am God;

I will be exalted among the nations,

I will be exalted in the earth."

The LORD Almighty is with us;

the God of Jacob is our fortress.

The final passage are some words that Jesus spoke to His guys on the night of His arrest.

Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; Trust also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms;

if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

4 You know the way to the place where I am going.” 5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. – John 14:1-6

PRAYER…

3000 years ago… King Solomon (David’s Son) grabbed a pen & paper… and wrote the following words…

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: 2 a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, 3 a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace… He has made everything beautiful in its time.
