Fruit Of The Spirit Part 1

Galatians 5:22-23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Let's start with the first one. Love. 1st Corinthians 13:4-10 "Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away."

Our next fruit is joy. Phillipains 4:4 "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice."

The in all circumstances, rejoice, because we have a promise, and an inheritance bigger than our circumstances

Let's move on to peace. Psalm 4:8 " In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety."

We should be finding our peace in Jesus. We don't need to be worried about life, because were looking forward towards Heaven. Why do you think I named this minestry "Heaven on High"?

Now for the next one we will be skipping a few fruits that we will look at next week. But for now, our final one will be self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7 "for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control."

Our most powerful urges are sexual. It's no secret. Like at all, kinda disturbing. According to Webroot, in 2010, 28% of porn users used work computers, and the average amount of time was 13 minutes. (Make sure you say "quote" Every Second:

28,258 users are watching pornography on the internet.

$3,075.64 is being spent on pornography on the internet.

372 people are typing the word "adult" into a search engine." And

"Every Day:

37 pornographic videos are created in the United States.

2.5 billion emails containing porn are sent or received.

68 million search queries related to pornography- 25% of total searches- are generated.

116,000 queries related to child pornography are received."

Now, let's see what scripture has to say about this issue. 1 Corthains 6:18 "Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body."

And what Paul says is true. Studies have shown that sexual immortality does physically hurt the body. Athletes are told not to do anything sexual for 2 weeks before game.

Now, what can we do with this? In Mathew 7, Jesus says we can identify someone by their fruits. Now, what fruits do you wanna produce? Personally, I'd like to be producing the good kind.
