Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
This sermon explores our identity as God's chosen people, the significance of being a spiritual priesthood, and living according to God's plan. Key
Good morning, family! It's so good to see all of you gathered here today. We're about to get into something really special, something that's at the heart of our faith and our relationship with God. It's all about understanding our spiritual priesthood, the significance of being chosen by God, and what it means to live as God's chosen people.
You know, I was reading a book the other day by a well-respected Christian author, A.W. Tozer. He said something that really struck me. He said, "God never hurries. There are no deadlines against which He must work. Only to know this is to quiet our spirits and relax our nerves." Isn't that something? It's a reminder that God's got everything under control, and He's got a plan for each and every one of us.
In the passage we just read, Peter uses the imagery of stones to describe our relationship with God. We are like living stones, being built into a spiritual house. This is a beautiful picture of what it means to be part of God's chosen people. We are not just individuals, but part of a larger structure, a spiritual house that God is building. Each of us has a place in this house, a role to play in God's kingdom.
This spiritual house is not just any house, but a holy priesthood. This is a profound truth that we need to grasp. In the Old Testament, the priesthood was a specific group of people, the Levites, who were set apart to serve God in the temple. They were the ones who offered sacrifices to God on behalf of the people. But here, Peter is saying that we are all part of a holy priesthood. We are all called to serve God, to offer spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable to Him.
Amid the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it's easy to lose sight of the monumental truth that we are chosen by God ... View this full PRO sermon free with PRO
