Contributed by Bishop Prof. Julius Soyinka on Jan 8, 2026 (message contributor)
Summary: The Lord will not downgrade His people at anytime, but He upgrades them continually, moving from one glory to greater glory.
FROM GLORY TO GREATER GLORY
Study Text: Proverbs 4:18
Introduction:
- Beloved, we have not crossed into this new year by chance, nor by strength. We have crossed by divine ordination.
- As we begin this year declared as the Year of Greater Glory, God is making it clear that this year will not be a repetition of the former, but a divine upgrade.
- Glory speaks of God’s presence, power, beauty, favour, and manifest goodness. When God declares greater glory, He is announcing more of Himself in our lives, families, church, and destinies.
- We shall be discussing the topic under three subheadings
1. The Promise of Greater Glory
2. The Pathway to Greater Glory
3. The Proofs of Greater Glory
1. The Promise of Greater Glory
(Haggai 2:9; Isaiah 60:1–2)
- Greater glory is God’s promise, not human ambition.
- God never redeems to downgrade; He redeems to upgrade.
- Whatever glory you experienced in the past—spiritually, physically, materially—God says, “There is more.”
- Yesterday’s testimonies will be surpassed. Former limitations will give way to divine enlargement.
- This year, God will reveal Himself in new dimensions.
- Greater glory means:
1. Greater clarity instead of confusion
2. Greater impact instead of insignificance
3. Greater grace instead of struggle
2. The Pathway to Greater Glory
(2 Corinthians 3:18; Psalm 24:7–10)
- Greater glory is progressive, not accidental. There is a pathway.
a. Deeper Alignment with God
- Glory increases where obedience increases. This year demands intentional walking with God.
b. Consistent Spiritual Engagement
- Prayer, Word, worship, and holiness are glory carriers. You cannot carry greater glory with lesser consecration.
c. Positive Spiritual Posture
- Glory responds to hunger, faith, and expectation. Expectation is the womb where glory is conceived.
3. The Proofs of Greater Glory
(Exodus 34:29–35; John 2:10)
- When glory increases, evidence follows. Evidences of Greater Glory:
1. Visible transformation – people will see the difference.
2. Unusual favour – doors open without struggle.
3. Stronger victories – battles end faster.
4. Greater testimonies – the latter is better than the former.
This year:
Your best results will not be behind you.
Your greatest impact will not be in the past.
Your strongest anointing will not be history.
Lift your right hand and declare:
This year, I move from glory to greater glory.
Every veil limiting my glory is removed in Jesus name.
My path shines brighter and brighter this year.
I will not repeat old battles; I enter new victories.
The glory of God will be seen in my life, family, and calling.
This church will experience unusual growth and impact.
What could not happen last year will happen with ease this year.
I carry the fragrance of divine glory everywhere I go.
Conclusion:
- Beloved, the year of greater glory is not a slogan; it is a spiritual verdict.
- God is repositioning us for visible, irresistible, and undeniable manifestations of His goodness.
- Step into this year with faith, alignment, and expectation. The glory ahead is greater than anything behind.
