Summary: Understanding Condemnation and Sin.
Romans 8:1-2 “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.” (NIV)
Questions:
1) What is Condemnation?
You feel guilty.
You feel fear.
You feel self-rejection.
2) How does God respond to me when I sin?
He does not reject me when I sin.
He is not angry at me when I am inconsistent.
He does not punish me when I sin.
Truth: All of our punishment, guilt, shame, and penalty have been taken by Jesus Christ.
3) What happens when a Believer sins?
Six Things:
Sin brings conviction from God.
Sin will hurt other people—especially those we love.
Sin will destroy our happiness.
Sin breaks Fellowship with God.
Sin limits our Usefulness to God.
Sin brings loving discipline from God.
4) What should I do when I sins?
Question: Are you in Christ?
