Dependent - for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.
The Complaint was -
A Prejudicial Complaint - 22 they gave him audience unto this word,
The word - Gentiles - Limited in their Views, Vision, and Venture.
William Carey “Young man, sit down: when God pleases to convert the heathen, He will do it without your aid or mine.”
A Publicized Complaint - and then lifted up their voices, and said,
A Perilous Complaint - Away with such a fellow from the earth:
A Presumptuous Complaint - for it is not fit that he should live.
The Commotion -
Their Conviction - 23 And as they cried out,
Their Confusion - and cast off their clothes,
Their Consternation - and threw dust into the air,
The Compulsion
The Intervention - 24 The chief captain commanded him to be brought into the castle,
The Interrogation - and bade that he should be examined by scourging;
The Investigation - that he might know wherefore they cried so against him.
The Complication
The Practice - 25 And as they bound him with thongs,
The Problem - Paul said unto the centurion that stood by,
The Petition - Is it lawful for you to scourge a man that is a Roman,
and uncondemned?
The Communication
The Revelation - 26 When the centurion heard that,
The Resolution - he went and told the chief captain, saying,
The Reservation - Take heed what thou doest: for this man is a Roman
The Ratification - 27 Then the chief captain came, and said unto him,
Tell me, art thou a Roman? He said, Yea.
The Comparison
The Prize of Roman Citizenship - 28 And the chief captain answered,
The Price of Roman Citizenship - With a great sum obtained I this freedom.
The Privilege of Roman Citizenship - And Paul said, But I was free born
The Compliance
The Fright - 29 Then straightway they departed from him which should have examined him:
The Fear - and the chief captain also was afraid,
The Fault - after he knew that he was a Roman,
The Failure - and because he had bound him.
The Compelled
The Pace - 30 On the morrow,
The Pursuit - because he would have known the certainty wherefore he was accused of the Jews,
The Preference - he loosed him from his bands, and
The Plan - commanded the chief priests and all their council to appear
The Presentation - and brought Paul down, and set him before them.
