Summary: WE DON'T HAVE ANY REASON NOT TO FORGIVE. FORGIVENESS STRENGTHENS FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD AND MAN.

MAIN TEXT-Matthew 18:21-22

Then came Peter to him and said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, until seven times: but until seventy times seven

Luke 17:3- Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him: and if he repent, forgive him.

The word and act of forgiveness is a very heavy word to speak or to practice by a lot of people even some Christians find it difficult when it comes to the subject of forgiveness but forgiveness is a key that opens doors of blessings spiritually. So if you do not forgive, you lack this key that opens doors. To the point, that the bible said, when we stand to give to God and we remember somebody that we have not forgiven that we must go back and reconcile. You may ask what it means to forgive and forget and whether it is possible in reality to forget. One fact you must appreciate is that when you truly forget, you have forgiven. To forget does not mean that your memories may not recall the event but it means that even if there is a memory recall, there will be no pains and grudges in your heart. To learn how to forgive easily, you must be ready to first forgive whether you are at fault or not. Then how many times would your brother, colleague or anybody offend you and you will not forgive? This was the question that Peter asked and Jesus replied, “Seventy times seven,” at one particular sin and in one instance. So when you calculate it, you will get four hundred and Ninety times which is not obtainable. Beloved we are bound to always ‘forgive’ (give out the pains and let it go) If you don’t forgive and forget, it blocks your access to reach God.
