Summary: What is it means to follow Jesus?
FOLLOWING JESUS MEANS:
*SELF DENIAL AND CROSS BEARING.
MATTHEW 16:24 – Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
*ABANDONING EVERYTHING.
LUKE 14:33 – In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple.
*HOLD TO JESUS’ TEACHINGS.
JOHN 8:31 – Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.”
*CHRISTLIKENESS
PHILIPPIANS 2:6-8 – He made himself nothing….He humbled Himself…become obedient to death.
• Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit.
• Consider others better than yourself.
• Take care of others.
