Fix Your Eyes On Jesus

TOPIC - FIX YOUR EYES ON JESUS

There was a game we used to play as a kid whereby you lock/fix gazes and the person that blinked first loses.

The same with Christ. The moment you lose your gaze on Him, you begin to fall/sink. Check Matthew 14:15-33.

Fixing your eyes on Christ means focusing your gaze, attention, problems, faith on Him without distraction because of who He is. Hebrew 12:2.

WHY SHOULD WE FIX OUR EYES ON JESUS

? Only Jesus can give us light and lead us to our rightful destination in this world of uncertainty and too many distractions, else, we will be lost and wandering in the wilderness and darkness. John 1:4-5, John 14:6.

? He is the author and finisher of our faith. He knows us better than we know ourselves. He was there when we were created. Don't lose focus on Him. Hebrew 12:2. John 1:3.

? To get rid of fear and doubts:- We may fail or sink when we lose contact with Him but anytime we call on Him to save us, He will refocus our attention back to Himself. Matthew 14:30-31.

HOW DO WE FIX OUR EYES ON JESUS

* To fix your eyes on Jesus, you have to know Him. Develop a relationship with Him. That means you have to read and study the Bible and grow in the knowledge of Jesus.

* Have Faith in Him. He is our saviour. Believe that with Him, all things are possible.

* Simply ask Him. Ask Him in prayers. Matthew 14:28-29, John 14:14.
