Summary: Purpose of this little book is for sinful man to know how to have fellowship with God and be sure about it.
Purpose of this little book is for sinful man to know how to have fellowship with God and be sure about it. The key verse is 5:13, God doesn’t want us to be deceived. He knows the human heart is subject to deception. Jeremiah 17:9. Man in the beginning sinned against God, because of deception and believed a lie. Men have always tried to match wits with God’s methods of salvation by their own substitutions. Man has devised so many ways to heaven it is a proof he can be deceived. Widespread of communism and other ISMs in so short a time further poof of deception. Pulls no punches, plays no favorites.
Satan is author of all lies father of all liars. He opposes the ways of God and deceives men into accepting lies.
Genesis 3:1-6, Satan’s first work with the human race was deception.
I. The Lie of the Self Righteous

II. The Lie of the Hypocrite

III. The Lie of the Apostate, Modernists

V. The Lie of Unbelief
