We are living in challenging and dangerous times. Ignoring this reality is as unwise as trying to confront a Tsunami or a tornado. However, under God's protection, we are invincible. This sermon explores the power of faith and God's protection in our lives.

Introduction

In these perilous times, it is crucial to pay attention to a message that is often neglected. Just as it would be foolish to stand against a tsunami or a tornado, ignoring this message is equally unwise. The blood of Jesus is the key to victory and protection.

Scripture

"The priest is to take some of the blood of the guilt offering and put it on the lobe of the right ear of the one to be cleansed, on the thumb of their right hand and on the big toe of their right foot. The priest shall then take some of the log of olive oil, pour it in the palm of his own left hand, dip his right forefinger into the oil in his palm, and with his finger sprinkle some of it before the Lord seven times. The priest is to put some of the oil remaining in his palm on the lobe of the right ear of the one to be cleansed, on the thumb of their right hand and on the big toe of their right foot, on top of the blood of the guilt offering. The rest of the oil in his palm the priest shall put on the head of the one to be cleansed. Then he shall make atonement for them before the Lord."

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I have been deeply impressed by the Holy Spirit about the importance and power of Jesus' blood. I sense that the Holy Spirit is urgently trying to remind the church to embrace the significance of the blood in our thoughts, words, and actions.

Explanation

This Scripture passage discusses the cleansing of a leper, which symbolizes sin in the Old Testament. It reveals that a leper was not considered clean until the blood was applied. After pronouncing the leper clean through the blood, the priest would then apply oil only where the blood was present.

The significance for us is that the Holy Spirit responds to the blood, testifies to the blood, and waits for the blood to be applied. The Holy Spirit only comes where the blood has been applied. It is the blood that brings salvation, justification, deliverance, sanctification, power, anointing, peace, authority, and joy. The Holy Spirit is calling the church back to the power of the blood.

The Bible teaches us that without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins (Hebrews 9:22, NIV). Just as the Israelites were saved from the death angel by applying the blood of the lamb to their doorposts during Passover, we are saved by the blood of Jesus. The songwriter captured this truth when he wrote, "When I see the blood, I will pass over you."

Without the blood, there is no fire. On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came upon the believers in the upper room and baptized them with supernatural fire. This fire was only possible because they had first been covered by the blood of Jesus. The pathway to power is through the blood.

Application

We must understand that there is no power without the blood of Jesus. It doesn't matter how impressive our church buildings or programs are, without the blood, we are lifeless and powerless. We may have talent, knowledge, and position, but without the blood, we are nothing but a pretty corpse.

To experience power and victory in our lives and churches, we must be covered by the blood of Jesus. We need to plead the blood over every aspect of our lives and trust in its cleansing and protecting power. The Holy Spirit only comes where the blood has been applied.

Conclusion

In these uncertain times, we cannot rely on our own strength or worldly measures for protection. Only the blood of Jesus can keep us safe from the devil, sickness, and calamities. It is through the blood that we are saved, washed, sanctified, justified, redeemed, protected, delivered, and healed.

Let us lift our hands and thank God for the blood of Jesus. It is the blood that brings power and victory. May we, as the church, return to the power of the blood and experience the fullness of God's anointing. Remember, it is first the blood, then the glory. May we always be under the covering of the precious blood of Jesus. Amen.
