Summary: This is the 9th study in the study "The Hebrew Hymnal".

Series: The Hebrew Hymnal (Psalms) [#9]

HYMN #9: FINAL DESTINATION

Psalm 9

In the Septuagint, Psalms 9-10 are a single acrostic poem. Psalm 9 and 10 are discussing prophetic themes that have not yet occurred. In Psalm 9 we find an explanation of two types of judgments. As we study these two judgments, which one will you be judged at?

Psalm 9

The Bema

The judgment seat of Christ is often called the bema- which is the Greek word for the judgment seat in 2 Corinthians 5:10.

This judgment is only for Christians and has nothing to do with salvation because that was taken care of when that person accepted God’s gift of salvation. Through the blood of Jesus sprinkled on our lives at salvation, we have been justified before God.

2 Corinthians 5:6-10

1 Corinthians 3:10-15

This judgment determines the things that you did in your life that were pure- things of God. From this we will be given crowns to cast at the feet of Jesus Christ.

The Great White Throne

This judgment is only for “lost” people. At this judgment each person will be judged according to their sins and then cast into the Lake of Fire.

Revelation 20:11-15
