Fellowship With Others

Summary: I want to give 4 points concerning our fellowship as believers in God. Understand that there can be no fellowship unless these points are understood and applied. Christians have fellowship because.......
- All believers from the moment they accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior have the Holy Spirit living in them.
- But because sin has invaded the physical aspect of our being, our bodies must die or be transformed. Yet because Christ is in us, we now experience the life of the Spirit. (Gal 5)
- The have fellowship because we are saved and are making it our desire in life to live according to the Spirit. When we live according to the Spirit we bear friut.
- So if a believer is not desiring to be transformed are they saved? Or have they lost something in there journey with the Lord?
- If you are not desiring to be transformed and become more like Christ, you are on dangerous ground and can have no real fellowship with believers who are seeking to live a transformed life.
We have fellowship because........
Point 4: We Have Common Gifts Of The Spirit
Rom 15:27 says, “They were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in the Jews spiritual blessings, they owe it to the Jews to share with them their material blessings.”
- Paul recognized that the churches in Jerusalem had an obligation to give.
- Not with money but with material things, fleshly things.
- They were instructed to serve each other and minister to each other.
- All of us are equipped to serve and minister to each other.
- All of us have gifts from the God to build up and minister to the body.
- But are we doing it? Do we know our giftings from the Lord so that we can serve more effectively?
- Church like it or not, we have an obligation to each other, and that is to serve one another so we can have true fellowship.
- We all have gifts, lets respect them in each other and serve one another in Christ. So that we can be built up.
- So of you have the gift of giving, and God has blessed you with things, money and the ability to make money, what are you doing with it to help the church?
- Some of you have been gifted in the area of encouragement, are you using it and asking God to give you opportunity to use it in the church?
- True fellowship comes when we use our gifts to build each other up and other Christians in the world.
- If you are doing it, great! Keep striving for more opportunities.
We Have Fellowship Because.........
Point 5: We Have A Common Enemy
I Peter 5:8 says, “Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.”
- When humanity fell into sin, satan became the ruler of the world.
- He dominates the whole world, patrols the earth, and is commander of a host of evil spirits through whom he enslaves and keeps captive those without Christ.
- Only believers have been delivered from his power
- Yet as roaring lion, he remains a threat to believers and seeks to destroy them, especially through experiences of suffering.
- He will spiritually destroy anyone who abandon’s God’s protection. Through our faith in Christ’s blood, our spiritual warfare by the Spirit and our prayers to God, we are fully equipped to defeat Satan’s schemes, to resist him and to stand firm in the faith.
