Summary: If you want to meet God on a daily basis, you must take a decision to pitch your tent far from all earthly things or attachments, including social media, desires and even needs. Before you meet God, you must leave all your earthly things outside. You must come with the sole intention of meeting him.

Moses took his tent and pitched it outside the camp, far from the camp, and called it the tabernacle of meeting. And it came to pass that everyone who sought the LORD went out to the tabernacle of meeting which was outside the camp. Exodus 33:7

To meet God on a daily basis, Moses took his tent and pitched it outside the camp, far away from the camp. He pitched the tent far from the camp – means he pitched the camp far from all earthly attachments (and things) to have an undivided attention or focus only on God.

When you want to meet God, do you follow the same steps? Do you also pitch your tent far from the camp when you want to meet God? Pitch your tent far from the camp, means you need to create a secret or quiet place far from all earthly attachments. This place is not a physical location, but it’s a place far from all earthly attachments like social media, desires and even your needs. This is a place far from all earthly attachments because earthly attachments might distract you and interfere with your time with God. This place is far from all social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and all network signals so that we can pick up heavenly signals and frequencies.

You want to pitch your tent far from all earthly attachments with only one desire to meet God, spend time with him, and see and speak to him face to face. Before we enter this tent, we must leave all earthly things outside and come with the sole intention of meeting and spending time with God in order to get to know, love, and have a communion with him.

If you want to meet God but nevertheless set up your tent close to earthly attachments like social media and earthly desires, you are fooling yourself. If you want to meet God on a daily basis, you must take a decision to pitch your tent far from all earthly things or attachments, including social media, desires and even needs. Before you meet God, you must leave all your earthly things outside. You must come with the sole intention of meeting him and having a face-to-face conversation with him.

And it came to pass, when Moses entered the tabernacle, that the pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Moses. Exodus 33:7

When we take a decision to pitch the tent far from the camp, the good thing that happens is that the Lord speaks to you first. We don’t speak first, but it will be God speaking first. It’s more of God talking to you and you are in listening mode. Most of the time in our prayers, it’s we talking to God and rarely God speaks. In this instance, when we pitch the tent far from the camp, the Lord talks to you. The Lord reveals his heart and plans. The Lord makes his intentions and heart known, and his intentions are usually about the people rather than you. We will be in the listening posture like Samuel – “Speak, LORD, for your servant is listening”. We will develop a desire to hear more from God and will be eager to hear what he speaks. He will talk a lot, and we will talk a few words.

The Lord will be talking and talking, and we will be listening and listening. It will more of the Lord talking and we will be keenly listening to what he says. Every word from God is so precious. The Lord will speak more, and we will pay closer attention to what he has to say. Hearing more from God—whether it be a promise, a correction, a rebuke, or something else entirely—will make our lives so much wonderful. Whether it be a correction, reproach, or promise, his words will always bring life.
