Faithful Until The End Of Life

Rev. 2:10 states, “Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.” There are too many professing Christians which the Lord cannot depend upon. The Bible calls us “stewards.” In managing God’s business upon planet Earth we are not to be “yo-yo” Christians. An “up and down” Christian is a dishonor to God, rather than an honor to His cause. Every child of God should have an overwhelming desire to be faithful to the Lord Jesus Christ in all things—in your vocational life, your home life, and in your church life. Since Jesus has given His all for us, we should do no less in regard to

our devotion toward Him. Give your all and your best to the Master.

I. There Are Problems To The Faithful.

First, there is persecution from evil persons. 2 Tim.3:12 says, “All that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” When the ungodly turns on the faucet of persecution, some professing Christians turn back.

Secondly, there is pressure from an ungodly system. Rom. 12:1,2 tells us that we are not to be “conformed” to this evil world system. That simply means we are not to allow the world to squeeze us into its mold.

Also, there is a pull from an ungodly nature (Rom.7:21). The old Adam nature seeks to remove us from the place of spiritual stability in daily living.

II. There Should Be Persistence From The Faithful.

Our text verse says, “Be thou faithful.” We should persist without fear (Ps.27:1). Christ relieves and releases us from our fears as we look to him. As well, we should persist with fortitude. You need mental and emotional strength as you face the daily grind of life. People have little or no respect for a quitter. Keep on keeping on in spite of all which comes.

You also need to persist with faith. What keeps you going down the highway of faithfulness is your personal, productive faith in Christ.

III. There Will Be Provision From The Father.

Jesus said, “I will give thee a crown of life” (Rev.2:10). Some have called this the martyrs’ crown. There will be a special reward in eternity for those who have been faithful to the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. That gift will be expressive. It shows the gratitude of God for what we have done for Him. Keep in mind also, the gift will be eternal. The reward will be your eternal possession. Also, the crown will be enjoyed. It will be a glad day when the Lord grants you such a crown.
