FAITH PT 2

HEB 11 VS 1-3,6,32-40

Hebrews 11:1-3 (NKJV)

1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.

3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)

6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Hebrews 11:32-40 (NKJV)

32 And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets:

33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,

34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

35 Women received their dead raised to life again. And others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.

36 Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment.

37 They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented--

38 of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth.

39 And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise,

40 God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us.

1. THE PEOPLE OF FAITH- THESE ARE SIMPLY PEOPLE WHO HAVE ACTED UPON THEIR BELIEF THAT GOD IS ABLE TO DO WHAT HE SAID HE WOULD DO! YOU MAY BE THINKING THAT YOU HAVE NEVER RECEIVED THE THINGS THAT WE HAVE JUST READ IN HEBREWS 11, WE COULD ALL READ THESE THINGS AND HAVE OUR “WOW” MOMENTS, BUT LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING MY FRIENDS- IF YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN, YOU HAVE ALREADY HAD THE GREATEST MIRACLE PERFORMED IN YOU BY YOUR ACT OF FAITH!! GOD PERFORMED OPEN HEART SURGERY UPON EACH OF US AND IT NEVER LEFT A TINY SCAR:

Ezekiel 11:19-21 (NKJV)

19 Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh,

20 that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God.

21 But as for those whose hearts follow the desire for their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their deeds on their own heads," says the Lord GOD.

**WHAT DID JESUS SAY ABOUT FAITH:

Mark 11:20-24 (NKJV)

20 Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.

21 And Peter, remembering, said to Him, "Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away."

22 So Jesus answered and said to them, "Have faith in God.

23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
