Summary: This sermon is about having an unshakeable faith.

Now let us skip over to verses 28 and 29 of this same chapter: Then Nebuchadnezzar said Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, Who has sent His angel and delivered His servants who believed in, trusted in, and relied on Him! And they set aside the king’s command and yielded their bodies rather than serve or worship any god except their own God. 29 Therefore I make decree that any people, nation, and language that speaks anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego shall be cut in pieces and their houses be made a dunghill, for there is no other God who can deliver this way! We see here that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego are literally having to show faith in the fire. Let’s take a look at what Nebuchadnezzar said again and the response that he received in verses 14 through 18.(Refer back to the scripture) Now imagine, if you were in the same scenario, what would you have done? Would you have answered as quickly as the three or would you have hesitated. You see "Faith in the fire" is knowing that no matter what you are up against nothing is greater than your God. It is knowing that God can do all things and he can deliver you from all things including death. Can you imagine the look on Nebuchadnezzar’s face when he looked into the furnace and saw four figures instead of three better yet imagine his amazement to see that there were any figures still alive inside at all. The scripture says that the furnace was so hot that it killed the soldiers that threw Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in, because they were standing too close. Yet we have these three men go in and come out just as they were. They had no evidence of even being in the fiery furnace besides the witnesses that were there. God delivered them because of their Faith. An Unshakeable Faith. It was their faith that caused Nebuchadnezzar to change his whole attitude. Let us look back at verses 28 and 29.(refer back to the scripture) Not only did their faith deliver them but it converted a whole nation. That’s the kind of faith we as Christians should have today. The kind of faith that converts nations. Isn’t that the kind of faith that Jesus talked about. Remember the centurian who servant was ill and Jesus was about to go back to his house to heal the servant when the centurian stopped hi and told him that he was not worthy for Jesus to come to his home but that if He just spoke it he knew that his servant would be healed. That’s the kind of faith we should have, the kind of faith that heals just by us believing on Him. Now don’t get me wrong this kind of faith doesn’t just happen overnight, but as Christians we must learn to believe so strong in our hearts that there is nothing bigger than our God. Then and only then will he achieve that unshakeable faith, the faith that will bring us through the fire.
