II. The Prayer - (12-15)

i. The Plea - 12 Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand.

The Need for help - Arise, O LORD

The Nature of help - O God - Divine Help

The Note of help - lift up thine hand.

ii. The Prayer -12 forget not the humble.

Isaiah 66:1 Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me?

and where is the place of my rest? 2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

i. The Target - but to this man will I look,

ii. The Test - even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit

iii. The Trust - and trembleth at my word.

iii. The Perplexity - 13 Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it. 14 Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand:

iv. The Poverty - 14 the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.

v. The Petition - 15 Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none.

He wants Sin Rebuked, Revealed, And Removed Completely.

III. The Praise

i. David's Assessment - The Lord Reigns -

16 His Reign Is Eternal - 16 The LORD is King for ever and ever:

His Rights Are Everlasting - the heathen are perished out of his land.

ii His Assurance - The Lord Reacts -

17 LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble:

thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear

iii. His Assertion - The Lord Repays -

18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed,

that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

He Vindicates the Oppressed and He Vanquishs their Oppressors
