To prove that faith in GOD accomplishes impossible results.

Then Jesus said to the disciples, “Have faith in God.

I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.

I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Put faith in GOD

1. Faith came from Greek: pistis meaning moral conviction, reliance upon CHRIST for salvation, assurance, belief, believe, abstractly constancy in such profession.

a. Types of Faith:

(1) Great faith understands concept of authority (Matthew 8:10, Matthew 15:28)

When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to those who were following him, he said, “I tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel!

“Dear woman,” Jesus said to her, “your faith is great. Your request is granted.” And her daughter was instantly healed.

(2) Visible faith gets rewarded: forgiveness of sin (Matthew 9:2)

Some people brought to him a paralyzed man on a mat. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, “Be encouraged, my child! Your sins are forgiven.”

(3) Mustard seed faith. Even tiny faith can accomplish mountain of task. (Matthew 17:20, Luke 17:6)

“You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”

The Lord answered, “If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘May you be uprooted and thrown into the sea,’ and it would obey you!

(4) Misplaced faith. All faith should be directed to GOD (JESUS CHRIST) (Luke 8:25)

Then he asked them, “Where is your faith?” The disciples were terrified and amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “When he gives a command, even the wind and waves obey him!”

(5) Saving and Healing faith (Luke 18:42)

And Jesus said, “All right, receive your sight! Your faith has healed you.”

(6) Full of faith (Acts 6:5)

Everyone liked this idea, and they chose the following: Stephen (a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit), Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas of Antioch (an earlier convert to the Jewish faith).

(7) Faith as a door (Acts 14:27)

Upon arriving in Antioch, they called the church together and reported everything God had done through them and how he had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles, too.

B. Faith Can Be Commanded

1. Why do we need to command via faith?

a. To remove abnormal growth: leaves with no fruit is abnormal (Mark 11:21)

Peter remembered what Jesus had said to the tree on the previous day and exclaimed, “Look, Rabbi! The fig tree you cursed has withered and died!”

b. Tree is an obstacle in travel (Mark 11:23) - obviously sickness and diseases are obstacles in doing GOD's will so it needs to be removed.
