Summary: The word of God has the ability to build our faith
Faith Factors
2 Tim 3:16 & 17
“Faith alone saves, but the faith that saves is never alone” (John Calvin).
1. Inspiration of God, to inform us , Faith requires Risk
Gods will is revealed in the Word of God and He will never reveal
anything to us that He hasnt first revealed in His Word
Recorded three times Matt 9:20-22, Mark 5:25-34, Luke 8:43-48
Lev 25:25 tells us she was unclean and by touching someone else
She could have been put to death for her crime.
2. Profitable for doctrine to teach us Faith gets God’s attention
Mark 5:30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue
had gone out of him, turned him about in the press,
and said, Who touched my clothes?
He’s in the press, he was being touched by countless people,
but the touch of faith got His Attention
Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he
that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he
is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
3.For Reproof to scold us Lack of Faith is fruitless
Mark 5:26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and
had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but
rather grew worse,
Why do we make God our last resort? He should be our first Choice
4. For correction to educate us Faith brings assurance
Mark 5:33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was
done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him
all the truth.
5. Instruction in righteousness To elevate us to be like Jesus
Mark 5:34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee
whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
Luke 8:48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith
hath made thee whole; go in peace.
Righteousness equals peace
2Tim 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished
unto all good works.
Luke 11:28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the
word of God, and keep it.
