Experiencing Salvation

Isa 12:1-6 And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me. Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation. And in that day shall ye say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted. Sing unto the LORD; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth. Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.

To experience salvation and to be able to sing God is my salvation you need to:

1. Experience His wrath

v.1 (thou wast angry with me)

Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

1Co 11:32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

Rom 3:10-12 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Mat 3:7 …O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

It is coming and we are included as we are among the all deserve it.

2. Experience His comfort

Also in v.1 (thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me)

Hos 14:4 I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.

Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

It was turned to someone else.

Isa 53:6 … and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Eph 2:3 … and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

God is my salvation because He prepared and finished it all alone.

1Th 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

And in that day …

3. Experience His tranquility

v.2 (I will trust, and not be afraid)

Psalm 46:11 God of Jacob is our refuge.

John 14:27 Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Isa 43:2-3 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour:

Psa 36:7 How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

Psa 18:2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Psa 27:1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

4. Experience His power

v.2(for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength)

Exo 15:2 The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

Isa 40:29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

5. Experience His joy

v.2(and my song)

But not similar to the world …

Rom 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Isa 51:11 Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

Isa 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation
