EXPERIENCING LIBERTY BY THE ANOINTING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Study Text: Isaiah 10: 27

Introduction:

- God gave this message to the Israelites concerning their enemies, the Assyrians. Through God’s anointing, the Assyrian yoke was to be broken. That same promise the Lord gave the Israelites so many years ago to break bondage is in effect for you today if you will accept it.

- Words cannot describe how much we need the anointing of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We do not have to face the trials of life on our own. He will help us. If you have the Holy Spirit on the inside, you can stand any kind of battle on the outside.

- The anointing of the Holy Spirit helps us to do the commission of Jesus to evangelize the world. Luke 4: 18-19, Isaiah 58: 6.

- The anointing of the Holy Spirit destroys the works of the Devil. John 10: 10, 1 John 3: 8. There are people that ought to have moved higher in life than where they are presently at; a lot have been tied down to one location by one sort of bondage or the other.

- The anointing is very powerful and we need to take advantage of the anointing in order to destroy every satanic bondage and yokes.

- The anointing is a destroyer of yokes; the anointing is a destroyer of bondages. Wherever the anointing is present, bondages will be broken and destroyed.

- By the anointing of the Holy Spirit, Jesus did great things, healing the sick, delivering the oppressed and raising the dead. Acts 10: 38.

- This same power Jesus gave to us and assured us of the potency and the efficacy of the power: we shall tread upon serpents and scorpions and overcome all powers of the enemy without being hurt. Luke 10: 19-20.

- By virtue of the power through the anointing of the Holy Spirit, every child of God is entitled to total freedom and victory over every yoke and bondage of the devil, and every child of God is empowered to proclaim liberty to the captives.

- We shall discuss the topic under three sub-headings:

1. The Description of Satanic Yokes and Bondages

2. The Division of Satanic Yokes and Bondages

3. The Destruction of Satanic Yokes and Bondages

1. The Description of Satanic Yokes and Bondages

- The kingdom of darkness was described in the scripture as Principalities, Powers, Rulers of darkness of this world, and Spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12

- They specialise in doing wickedness to people without showing mercy. You cannot be too nice to escape wickedness. You don't need to offend them before they show their wickedness, this is the reason they are called the wicked.

- There are people that are victims of satanic oppression, yokes and bondages. This manifest in retardation of progress and absence of breakthroughs in many area of their lives.

i. Satanic yokes and bondages are instrument of oppression and affliction used to limit a person’s growth, promotion, fulfilment and breakthrough. It is a hindering barrier. 1 Corinthians 16: 9

ii. Satanic yokes and bondages are devices of torments, afflictions and sufferings in the lives of the people. Exodus 3: 7-8

iii. Satanic yokes and bondages are devices used to monitor, capture and destroy the glory of people, thereby keeping them in obscurity.

iv. Satanic yokes and bondages are devices used to manipulate people’s divine destinies, and tamper with divine arrangement in people’s lives. 1 Samuel 13: 11-14.

v. Satanic yokes and bondages are instrument of injecting trouble into people’s comfort, and sorrow into their blessings, so that they will not have fullness of joy. Genesis 39: 1-7.

vi. Satanic yokes and bondages are instrument of crumbling or devouring people’s health, wealth and reputation built over the years.

vii. Satanic yokes and bondages are devices for attacking people’s harvest, making them to labour in vain without reaping their good harvest. Judges 6: 3-6

2. The Division of Satanic Yokes and Bondages

- Satanic yokes and bondages can be divided into different categories based on the mission the kingdom of darkness is set to achieve. They have three principal missions: to steal, to kill and to destroy. John 10: 10, but there are sub-divisions:

i. Evaluating Mission

- When the enemy just want to shake you to evaluate your faith. All they are interested in is your backsliding and denial of faith.

- They make you to pass through several difficulties such as trials, delays, failures, disappointments and losses, just for you to renounce your faith. Job 2: 9-10.

- Sometimes the enemy bring great temptations at the verge of your victory and breakthrough. Genesis 39: 7-12.

ii. Blindfolding Mission

- When the enemy does everything possible to prevent a man from hearing the gospel or from responding positively to the gospel. 2 Corinthians 4: 3-4
