Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
A personal encounter with God can transform our lives, bringing positive change and fulfilling our deepest expectations. Just as God visited Sarah, He can also visit us, altering our circumstances for the better.
Divine visitation occurs when God, in His mercy, chooses to pay a visit to humanity. It is a time when heaven and earth collaborate, resulting in supernatural manifestations and the fulfillment of past promises and prophecies. Divine visitation brings about restoration, salvation, fruitfulness, deliverance, healing, and the manifestation of God's glory. In this sermon, we will explore the results of divine visitation and how we can provoke it through praise, prayer and fasting, holiness, and exercising violent faith.
A. Supernatural Manifestation:
Divine visitation always brings about supernatural manifestations. When God intervenes in difficult situations, miracles, signs, and wonders follow. These manifestations are tangible evidence of God's presence and power.
B. Restoration:
Divine visitation leads to restoration. Just as Jeremiah prophesied, God can transform a wilderness into a fruitful place. When God visits, He brings about a renewal and rebuilding of what was broken or lost.
C. Salvation:
Divine visitation brings salvation. Through Jesus Christ, God visited the earth to provide a way for humanity to be saved from sin and have eternal life. This visitation fulfilled prophecies given centuries before.
D. Fruitfulness:
When God visits, He brings forth fruitfulness. Just as Sarah conceived and gave birth to Isaac after God's visitation, God can bring forth fruitfulness in our lives. This can manifest in various areas such as relationships, finances, and spiritual growth.
E. Deliverance:
Divine visitation results in deliverance. Just as Daniel experienced angelic visitation through prayer and fasting, God can deliver us from bondage and set us free from the chains that hold us captive.
F. Healing:
Divine visitation brings healing. As we see in the New Testament, Jesus visited the sick and performed miraculous healings. When God visits, He can bring physical, emotional, and spiritual healing into our lives.
G. Manifestation of God's Glory:
Divine visitation reveals the glory of God. When Jesus was transfigured before Peter, James, and John, His divine nature and glory were manifested. When God visits, His glory shines forth, revealing His majesty and power.
H. Victory:
Divine visitation leads to victory. Just as God gave Jehoshaphat victory over his enemies, God can grant us victory in our battles and challenges. When God visits, He fights on our behalf and ensures our triumph.
I. Miracles:
Divine visitation brings about miracles. When the angel visited Mary to announce the birth of Jesus, it was a miraculous event. When God visits, He can perform supernatural acts that defy human understanding.
J. Judgment on the Wicked:
Divine visitation can also result in judgment on the wicked. Throughout Scripture, we see examples of God's visitation bringing judgment upon those who oppose Him and perpetrate evil.
To provoke divine visitation, we can employ several strategies:
A. Praise:
Praise is a powerful tool to provoke divine visitation. Just as Paul and Silas praised God in prison, we can lift our voices in worship and adoration. Praise invites God's presence and opens the door for His intervention in our lives.
B. Prayer and Fasting:
Prayer and fasting are effective ways to provoke divine visitation. Daniel's fasting and prayer attracted angelic visitation, and the early disciples experienced the outpouring of the Holy Spirit through prayer and fasting. When we combine prayer and fasting, we demonstrate our dependence on God and create an atmosphere for His visitation.
C. Walking in Holiness and Purity:
Living a holy and pure life is essential to provoke divine visitation. The Bible instructs us to pursue holiness and be pure in heart. When we live in right standing with God, we position ourselves for His visitation and experience His blessings.
D. Exercise Violent Faith:
Violent faith is a bold and unwavering belief in God's promises. Elijah demonstrated violent faith when he declared the coming abundance of rain in the midst of a drought. To provoke divine visitation, we must exercise faith that sees beyond the natural and expects the supernatural.
As we anticipate divine visitation, let us boldly declare the lordship of Jesus and pray for God's special visitation in our lives. By living holy lives, exercising violent faith, and engaging in praise, prayer, and fasting, we can provoke divine visitation. Remember, Jesus is coming back again, so let us remain ready and help others prepare for His return. May God's divine visitation bring transformation, restoration, and supernatural manifestations in our lives.
