And They Stood Every Man in His Place

Judges 7:15-21

And they stood every man in his place…

Mention: Genesis 28:11, 16 Jacob lighted upon a certain place…surely the LORD is in this place and I knew it not.

I am still convinced today that God has a specific place for the Church and every individual Christian and that place is not a mystery.

It is in that place where we experience the power of God upon our lives!

There are several things I find about this Place:

1. It is a Consecrated Place

See: Judges 6:25-26 Build an altar unto the LORD thy God upon the top of this rock, in the ordered place…

a. In this place all idols are removed

b. It this place God is highly exalted

Today this is exemplified in our hearts! God can and will not use a dirty vessel!

Mention: 1 Peter 3:15 but sanctify the Lord God in your hearts…

2. It is a Courageous Place

Mention: Judges 7:3 Claim in the ears whosoever is fearful and afraid…22,000 departed from the 32,000 soldiers leaving 10,000

Mention: Joshua 1:7 only be thou strong and very courageous

a. Courage is standing for truth without compromise

b. Courage is often that which opposite the majority

Mention: It was Gideon’s own people that he had the first struggle with

Examples:

• Joshua and Caleb

• David

They would eventually go from 10,000 to 300 men to fight against 135,000 Midianites

3. It is a Conquering Place

See: Judges 7:21 And all the ran, and cried and fled

Mention: Romans 8:31, 37 If God be for us who, who can be against us?...We are more than conquerors through Him that loved us

Physically were out numbered today just take a good look at society today!

The Church appears to be constantly moving in a downward spiral

Mention: 2 Kings 6:15-17 There are more for us then they are for them

Mention: Judges 7:22 The LORD set every man’s sword against his fellows

4. It is a Place of Comradely

Just like when the Lord used David to defeat Goliath…

Mention: Judges 7:23 – 8:21 The rest of God’s people joined in the battle

Mention: 1 Cor. 3:9 For we are labourers together with God

5. It is a Place of Commission

See: Judges 8:22-23 The LORD shall rule over you

Mention: 1 Peter 5:3-4 Not being lord over, but an example…He’s the Chief Shepherd!

6. It is a Place of Commitment

Mention: Judges 7:21 Every man stood…

When our work here is done we have a place awaiting us!

John 14:2 In My Father’s house there are many mansion if it were not so I would have told you , I go and prepare a place for you.
