Summary: God had promised Abraham a land forever and David a throne forever

So far we have look at the Rapture, The Tribulation, Armageddon/Christ Return , The Millennium and also answered some Questions , and last week The Great White Throne Judgment and now the last part, The New Heaven And The New Earth.

Isaiah 65:17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

Daniel 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

God had promised Abraham a land forever and David a throne forever. Daniel prophesied of “… a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed. The new earth will see the total fulfillment of these prophecies.

They all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were convinced of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth and so should we.

Apostle Peter saw that these heavens and earth would be destroyed but, he had trust and faith that God would do just what He said He would ....2 Peter 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 2 Peter 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness

Heaven is the new earth, a physical place where we will dwell with glorified physical bodies (1 Corinthians 15:35-58).

The thought that heaven is “in the clouds” is unbiblical. The thought that we will be spirits floating around in heaven is also unbiblical. The heaven that believers will experience will be a new and perfect planet on which we will dwell. The new earth will be free from sin, evil, sickness, suffering, and death. This will not be Hollywood...this will be Heaven!

Revelation chapters 21-22 gives us a picture of the new heavens and the new earth. After the events of the end times, the current heavens and earth will be done away with and replaced by the new heavens and new earth. The eternal dwelling place of believers will be the new earth. The new earth is the “heaven” on which we will spend eternity. It is the new earth where the New Jerusalem, the heavenly city, will be located. It is on the new earth that the pearly gates and streets of gold will be. Many people have a misconception of what heaven is truly like. We as Gods people will not be floating on a cloud or doing the things that you see on TV.

What about the new heavens? It is important to remember that in our mind down through history, “heavens” referred to the skies and outer space, as well as the place in which God dwells. So, when (Revelation 21) refers to the new heavens, it is very likely that the entire universe will be created....a new earth, new skies, a new outer space and the Bible also says that there will be no more sea. Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

Again, we can only imagine or dream of things we have seen or what other humans have come up with as theologically so, everything else outside of our hands-on experience, mans limited knowledge and history, we must trust Gods word.

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

I hope you have been blessed from this little 7 part series but, my heart's desire is that everyone who reads this is looking for the promises of our Saviour, Christ Jesus.

Love in Christ Jesus, Ronnie Miller www.themillersbiblestudy.com
