Preach "The King Has Come" 3-Part Series this week!
Preach Christmas week
God has gifted us with a fresh start through Jesus Christ. We are encouraged to (1) let go of our past, and (2) live with a renewed sense of purpose.
Today, we will explore the incredible truth that God has given us a new life through Jesus Christ. This new life calls us to leave behind our past and embrace a renewed purpose. Let us dive into 2 Corinthians 5:17, which states, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"
We must not dwell on our past mistakes or carry the burden of guilt. God has forgiven us and wiped away our sins through Jesus Christ. As 1 John 1:9 assures us, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." We should not live in regret or sorrow but instead embrace the newness of life that Christ offers.
In the past, we may have wondered about the purpose of our existence. We toiled without a clear direction, waiting for the end. However, now that we know Jesus, our lives have a new meaning and purpose. Our primary goal is to serve Him and be His ambassadors in this world. As 2 Corinthians 5:20 states, "We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us." Our focus should be on representing Him well and sharing His love with others.
As we live with a renewed purpose, we must remember that this world is not our eternal home. We should not become too attached to material possessions or worldly desires. They are temporary and will pass away. Instead, we should use the things we have been given to fulfill God's mission for our lives. As 1 Corinthians 7:31 reminds us, "For this world in its present form is passing away."
In conclusion, we need to be reconciled with God, our Creator. This reconciliation comes through Jesus Christ, who offers us a new life. We must admit our sins, receive Jesus as our Savior, and invite Him to be the Lord of our lives. Let us embrace this newness of life and live with a renewed purpose, serving as ambassadors for Christ. May we prioritize eternal matters over temporary desires and strive to make Him known to the world.
