How many of you have an unfinished project waiting for you at home? Raise your hand. It could be something you've been working on for a long time but haven't quite completed. We all have projects that we undertake, whether it's working in the yard, fixing up the house, or reading a book.
Now, how many of you can have multiple projects lying around, all about halfway done, and think, "I'll get to them when I get a chance"? We all have different approaches to completing projects.
But today, I want to remind you that God is going to finish what He has started in your life. And this truth also applies to New Hope Church. God isn't done with us; in fact, I believe He's just getting started.
First, remember God's great love for you and how He rejoices over you. In Luke 15:8-9, Jesus tells a parable about a woman who loses a coin and searches diligently until she finds it. When she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together to rejoice with her. Just as this woman rejoices over finding her lost coin, God rejoices over you. He spared nothing in His search for you. He sent His Son, His Spirit, and His angels after you. He had people pray for you. You belong to Him because He never gave up until He found you.
Second, remember that God is working in you. The good work that has been started in you is God living in you, changing you, molding you, and using you for His good pleasure. You are a work in progress, and you won't be complete until Christ comes back. Allowing God to work in you can be painful and hard, but it's always rewarding and fulfilling. Be open to God's work in your life and continue to grow.
Lastly, remember that God doesn't see failure when He looks at you. He doesn't judge you based on worldly standards of success or failure. When God sees you, He looks at your heart and whether you love Him and serve Him. Failure is a part of life, and it's through failure that we grow. Don't give up or get discouraged. Keep believing that God is still working in you and through you.
In conclusion, put away your doubts and fears. Stand on truth, live by faith, and be excited about what God is doing in your life and in the church. God will finish what He has started in you.
