Our Lord Jesus had just been brutally crucified on that cross.

His body was taken down and placed in the grave.

A large stone had been used to seal the opening.

Roman guards were placed outside the tomb. Three days go by.

I can just imagine the old Devil leaning back saying, “I finally got Him!

I’ve tried to destroy Him for many years. Now there is no longer a Savior!”

But the old Devil must have forgotten one thing. God, the Father had other plans.

For by His marvelous power, God reached into that tomb, and brought Jesus forth.

Out of that grave He came, more alive than ever. Victorious over death!

Somebody said, “Preacher, I believe that Jesus arose from the grave.

But how is that relevant to me, after all these years, in my life today?”

*Here are 3 logical reasons why Jesus’ resurrection is important to anyone today.

1. The Resurrection of Jesus means that Jesus is ALIVE.

Matthew 28:1-6

Many witnesses have affirmed that Jesus is alive. (I Corinthians 15:3-8)

2. The Resurrection of Jesus means we have an ADVOCATE.

A believer who sins, has an advocate. (I John 2:1)

An advocate has been defined as “one who speaks in court on behalf of a defendant.”

Jesus now appears in the presence of God for us.” (Hebrews 9:24)

Jesus appears as our advocate at the right hand of God and intercedes for us.” (Romans 8:34)

3. The Resurrection of Jesus gives us eternal ASSURANCE.

Physical death is not the end for the child of God. (I Corinthians 15:50-57)

Bible describes it like this… “Absent from the body -- present with the Lord!”

The following news article appeared after the death of Evangelist Dwight L. Moody…

“Some day you will read in the papers that D. L. Moody, of East Northfield, is dead. Don’t you

believe a word of it! At that moment I shall be more alive than I am now. I shall have gone up

higher, that is all; out of this old clay tenement into a house that is immortal—a body that death

cannot touch; that sin cannot taint; a body fashioned like unto His glorious body.“

The writer captured Jesus’ resurrection so well in that great old song…

“Up from the grave He arose, With a mighty triumph o'er His foes;

He arose a Victor from the dark domain; And He lives forever with His saints to reign.

He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

I apologize for misspelling "God" in my comments about wanting this message to be used to honor Him!
