Contributed by Robert Simmons on Feb 24, 2002 (message contributor)
Summary: Essential Characteristics of a Church that Prevails against kingdom of darkness
GOD WILL HAVE A CHURCH IN THIS CITY THAT WILL PREVAIL AGAINST THE STRONGHOLDS OF DARKNESS. WE WILL BE ARMED AND ANOINTED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT, LAUNCHING A MILITANT ASSAULT ON THE KINGDOM OF satan. THE SUPERNATURAL POWER OF GOD WILL BE AT WORK IN THE MINISTRIES OF HIS CHURCH. DARKNESS WILL BE DISPELLED, DEMONS WILL BE DEFEATED, DISEASES WILL BE HEALED, PRISONERS OF SIN WILL BE DELIVERED, THE CHURCH WILL BE ESTABLISHED.

This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
C. THE IMPORTANCE OF FELLOWSHIP AND LOVE
1. CHRISTIAN LOVE IS MATURITY, CHRISTIAN POWER IS ANOINTING AND GIFTEDNESS
D. THE IMPORTANCE OF ORGANIZATION
1. THOSE WHO ARE GIFTED BUT LACK WISDOM OR EXPERIENCE CAN MAKE UP FOR THIS LACK BY SUBMISSION TO THOSE OVER THEM IN THE LORD WHO ARE MORE SEASONED
2. IT PROVIDES THE CHANNEL FOR GOD’S POWER TO FLOW THROUGH
3. IT IS PATTERNED AFTER THE NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH
III. PRAYING IN POWER
A. PETER WAS PRAYED OUT OF PRISON (ACTS 12:5-19)
B. THIS BRINGS GOD’S ANOINTING ON OUR MINISTRIES
C. THIS GIVES US GOD’S VISION FOR OUR CITY
D. THIS MOVES GOD’S MIRACLE-WORKING HAND
E. THIS DISARMS THE DEVIL AND REVEALS HIS TACTICS

B. Galatians 6:1-2 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

C. CONCENTRATED EFFORTS ON METHODS AND PEOPLES PROVEN MOST EFFECTIVE
D. REALIZING THAT WE ARE A PART OF A TEAM EFFORT OF MANY HARVESTING CHURCHES
CONCLUSION:
If we can give our life to fulfilling the Great Commission while living out the Great Commandment, we will accomplish God’s purpose for us. All that God has predestined us to do in service to Him is in these verses. Love God (Worship), Love your neighbor (fellowship), Go into all the world (evangelism), teaching them to observe all things I have commanded you (discipleship). This is the ministry God has for every member of the Body of Christ; and every member is a minister.
