Dying With The Lord

Summary: “Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied; by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and he shall bear their iniquities” Isaiah 53:11.
We are identified with Christ in His death. We died with Him to our old life and are now a new creation. We are to renew our minds and no longer be ruled by the flesh or the world, but by the spirit.
The new life is one of victory lived by faith. It has access to all of God’s abundant blessings and provisions. We are a new creation made righteous by the grace of God and there is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. This truth empowers us to live holy lives in accordance with the Word of God and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus died that we might have life. His sacrifice on the cross would have served no purpose if we continued to live our old life. We are no longer under the Law but under grace. The Law pointed to sin and our inability to keep it and to death. Grace reveals our righteousness in Christ and empowers us to deal with and overcome sin as we focus on honouring and glorifying His name. Whereas the Law demanded righteousness, grace offers it as a gift. The Law says give to receive; grace says give because you have received. The Law says meet the need of others and yours will be met. Grace says meet the need of others because your needs have been met. The Law is always demanding whereas grace is always giving. Jesus Christ shed His blood on the cross to pay the penalty for sin and offer us forgiveness and eternal life. Have you received God’s forgiveness, righteousness and eternal life? Jesus Christ wants you to partake of His abundant provisions today.
Christ has achieved what the Law was not able to do. The way to God is not through works but through Christ. It is His blood that was shed on the cross that makes us righteous. Jesus became a curse to “redeem us from the curse of the law, that we might receive the promises of the Spirit through faith.” Jesus Christ was sold for thirty pieces of silver, the price of a slave, to redeem us from the slave market of sin. Jesus bore our shame that we might share his glory. He endured rejection on our behalf so that we might have His acceptance with the Father. Jesus was made sin with our sinfulness that we might be made righteous with His righteousness. Jesus Christ for our sakes became poor, that we through His poverty might become rich. Christ died as our substitute. He died instead of us, so that we might not have to die for our sins. But He also died as our representative, so that when He died we died with Him and when He rose from the dead we rose with Him. God’s grace has provided the solution to all the problems of mankind. Are you looking for solutions to problems in your life? Come to Christ, believe in Him and accept by faith what the death of Christ has obtained for you so that you can praise and glorify His holy name. Amen!
