Duck Dynasty star suspended.

That’s the big Headlines in the last couple of days. Man, Phil Roberson sure knows how to stir up folks not only by making a duck caller that works for the duck hunter and making millions of dollars doing it but, also he and his family has one of the most watched TV programs ever. Duck Dynasty is just plain family comedy and fun with a touch of inspiration of God believing country people. So, what is the problem and why all the publicity? “The network suspended him after he made controversial remarks about gays” That’s what the TV network was stated as saying. They got the facts of what Phil Roberson was quoted as saying from a magazine. “In the January issue of GQ, Robertson says homosexuality is a sin and puts it in the same category as bestiality and promiscuity.”

He also quoted Scripture and told the truth of what the Bible says about homosexuality. Interesting that the word controversial means (disagreement, or argument) ...as in “controversial remarks about gays”

Let’s look at what the Bible does say about the subject of homosexuality. First one that comes to mind is Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. Webster’s defines (abomination: The feeling of extreme disgust and hatred) So God is saying that a man that has sex with another man like a man has sex with a woman is extreme disgust to God and He hates it. Well, is what God said in Leviticus controversial, worth an argument with God? Would it be worth the time of a gay activist to stand before God and say “I have the right to be gay...I have the right to do whatever I want” Even if he could speak, I don’t believe it would do much good to bring little man before the all and mighty God in a disagreement.

Evident points to scripture in Genesis about Sodom and Gomorrah cities that were destroyed because of sin and sexual desires of homosexuality. Look at what the Bible says in Jude 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Abraham asked if the Lord would spare the cities if fifty righteous people lived there. The Lord said yes. Abraham kept bargaining down, until God agreed not to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah if even ten righteous people lived there. But, there weren’t even ten righteous people there in both cities so God destroyed them by fire. I believe with all my heart that the only reason that America has not been destroyed yet is because of the saved. Because Jesus has His hand on His own until the shout that will take us out!

You see more and more coming out of their shell as homosexuals. Ellen DeGeneres is one of hundreds that are professed to be gay. Each one are in a position to push gays rights to the white house and they have done it. That was their choice.

God does not create a person with homosexual desires. The Bible tells us that people become homosexuals because of sin, because of their own choice. Listen to what Paul says in Romans 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.

A person may be born with a greater lack of self-discipline to homosexuality, just as some people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins. That does not excuse the person’s choosing to sin by giving in to their own sinful desires.

Evil is all around us in today's society, from lying and stealing to pornography, drugs and violence. God calls us to be holy people set apart, not influenced by our wicked culture. Sin always has consequences. Pray for our country, pray for our children and grandchildren that they would never be influenced by our evil society. Will the gays win the argument over Phil Roberson? Probably, but unless they change, they will be destroyed by fire. God’s word has no controversial issues.
