Jeremiah 17:18 (Amplified Bible)

17:18 Let those be put to shame who persecute me, but let me not be put to shame; let them be dismayed, but let me not be dismayed. Bring on them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.

V. THESIS:

Praise, worship and thank You very much LORD JESUS for we don't have to take vengeance on our enemies but You will be the One to do it for us. It's really a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Living GOD.

Jeremiah 2:19 (Amplified Bible)

2:19 Your own wickedness shall chasten and correct you, and your backslidings and desertion of faith shall reprove you. Know therefore and recognize that this is an evil and bitter thing: [first,] you have forsaken the Lord your God; [second,] you are indifferent to Me and the fear of Me is not in you, says the Lord of hosts.

Jeremiah 31:33 (Amplified Bible)

31:33 But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel: After those days, says the Lord, I will put My law within them, and on their hearts will I write it; and I will be their God, and they will be My people.

A. Shame and dismay to the persecutors

"Let those be put to shame who persecute me, but let me not be put to shame; let them be dismayed, but let me not be dismayed."

Shame, confounded or "bush" in Hebrew meaning:

1. to pale

2. to be ashamed

3. to be disappointed or delayed

4. confusion

5. become dry

Dismayed or "chathath" in Hebrew meaning:

1. to prostrate - lying at length, or with the body extended on the ground or other surface.

2. to break down by violence, confusion and fear

Imagine our enemies these are the people who hate us without cause, they are already in this situation and if you pray for more of it in their lives, they're gonna really seek GOD and ask GOD for help.

B. Day of evil be upon them and double destruction

"Bring on them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction."

Double or "mishneh" in Hebrew meaning:

Destruction or "shibron" in Hebrew meaning:

1. rupture - the act of breaking or bursting; the state of being broken or violently parted

2. pang

3. ruin

For a believer, pray that he will be caught in rapture, for an unbeliever, pray that he will be ruptured.

Double doom

Revelation 18:6 (Amplified Bible)

18:6 Repay to her what she herself has paid [to others] and double [her doom] in accordance with what she has done. Mix a double portion for her in the cup she mixed [for others].
