Topic: DOTH THIS OFFEND YOU?

John 6:60-61King James Version (KJV)

60 Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?

61 When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?

Beloved when the disciples of Jesus heard Him talk about giving them His body and blood as food and drink the disciples couldn't accept it because it was illogical, it is humanly impossible and it was a foolish and devilish talk in human sense to say that. They felt insulted and were offended.

They felt so insulted and taken for fools to the extent that they said nobody can listen to this, "Who can hear this?". They thought even little children who are not old enough would see the folly in Jesus teachings.

Beloved, the teachings were "an hard saying" for them because they did not understand it like some Christians don't also understand Jesus today.

Jesus is not about facts and figures, human possibilities and logic. No, He is about faith and truth and the ability of God Almighty to do all things and anything at all according to His will.

The disciples lacked understanding of what Jesus was teaching them and this was so because they lacked revelation of who Jesus is. Precious Holy Spirit was not living in their hearts to teach them like we have today.

Beloved, God Almighty said in Hoses 4:6, that, "my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge".

Knowledge is the theoretical and practical understanding of a subject. And therefore anything that one lacks understanding of would not make sense to him and depending on what it is, the person may feel offended.

Beloved we have this problem of people feeling offended and insulted when Jesus is preached in the church today.

But until people seek for the revelation of Jesus on a personal quest and encounter Him to experience Him and also become acquainted with Precious Holy Spirit to receive understanding of His Word, Jesus would forever be a problem to them.

The Apostles Peter and Paul said in 1 Peter 2:8, and 1 Corinthians 1:23 respectively that Jesus is an offence, a stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the gentiles.

This is so to the people when they lack understanding and revelation of Jesus.

Now, because of the laziness of Christians to go on this personal quests to know Jesus personally, preachers have had to tamper with their messages to preach their messages in a way that people would not feel offended but this also takes away the reality of Jesus Christ from the church.

Beloved if the preaching of Jesus offends you in anyway then as Proverbs 4:7 says: ".......and with all thy getting get understanding".

Know that the church is not about you and your very life is not about you and the most amazing thing is that even God who is Almighty and Precious Holy Spirit who is the Spirit of God and the Power of the Holy Trinity are botb not about themselves but JESUS.

*IT'S ALL ABOUT JESUS* beloved. And if God Almighty and Precious Holy Spirit are both about Jesus then who are you to be about yourself?

Wise up, ask God for wisdom and begin to let down all those defences and pride and study to know, let Precious Holy Spirit teach you and give you revelation of Jesus so Jesus becomes real to you more than even your existence so you appreciate everything preached about Him according to His Word.

You need Jesus, get out of your puffed self and humbly seek and you shall surely find.
