Dont Be A Stumbling Block

1 Corinthians 8:4-9 King James Version (KJV)

4 As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.

5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)

6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

7 Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.

8 But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.

9 But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.

Beloved, there are many things that are of no effect to a Christian when he engages in such because God our Father is the God of all and Jesus our Lord is the Lord of all.

There is nothing in this world that is outside the power and authority of the Father. Everything is under Him and controlled by Him.

Beloved, one thing we must take heed of is this, worshiping God in spirit and in truth is what God desires of us. In this form of worship our spirits become one with the Spirit of God and we gain revelation in God's ways and His Word and we know what to do and what not to do.

When we have this knowledge, it opens us to the freedom which is in God and in knowing Him through His Son Jesus Christ. You can freely exhibit this freedom and enjoy it to the latter with no limitations.

*BUT* this exhibition of freedom is dangerous in a way as well. The exhibition of your freedom is not supposed to lead others astray. There are other Christians who are weak in God and in the knowledge of the Word and they have little or no revelation so they don't know the full freedom in our Father.

For such, the exhibition of your freedom becomes a stumbling block to them because in trying to also enjoy the freedom you are exhibiting they defile their conscience by feeling guilty about what they are doing and feeling dirty and sinful for doing so. This makes their action an offence.

This offence or guilt would be because you exhibited your freedom and they saw it. We therefore have to control the exhibition of the freedom we have in Christ so that weaker vessels among us don't fall because of us.

Our Father is happy when we control ourselves to help others not to fall because they are weak.

Beloved, *IT'S ALL ABOUT JESUS* and no one else. Jesus carefully and gently guided all who came to Him so that they will be strengthened. He also gave them knowledge through the Word so they grow and become vessels with revelation. Beloved let's be there for the weaker vessels and strengthen them to also enjoy thier lives in Christ and happily pass to the bosom of the Father at His appointed time.

Prayer: Daddy may you help us to control ourselves so we can be supports for the weaker vessels in the Body of Christ and not rather be stumbling blocks. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
