DON’T WORRY, BE HAPPY

Phil. 4: 4-7

V.4 - Rejoice in the Lord Alway and again I say Rejoice. --- God’s People should be Happy! -Psalm 85:6 - Wilt thou not revive us again, that thy people may Rejoice in thee. – Neh. 8:10 - The joy of the Lord is your strength. – John 15:11 - These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

Luke 10:20 - Rejoice because your names are written in heaven. God’s people should rejoice!

V.6 - Be Careful for Nothing - The word Careful here means "Anxious" -- Don’t be anxious or Don’t Worry over Nothing – The Greek word for nothing is Meden (don’t worry over one thing)

All through The Bible we are assured that God will take care of us and supply all our needs.

Matthew 6: 25-34..... Phil. 4:19 - But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. --- Psa. 23:1 - The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want --- Psa. 37:25 - I have been young and now am old, yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread --- I Cor. 10:13 - God is faithful, He will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able,

but will with the temptation also make a way of escape, that ye may be able to bear it. (weight limit)

Rom. 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose. --- God took Nothing and made the world - And there is plenty of nothing! -- God can make Something out of Nothing! Don’t Worry, Be Happy!

LET US LOOK AT SOME BIBLE CHARACTERS WHO WORRIED FOR NOTHING:

1. DAVID WORRIED THAT HE WOULD LOSE HIS LIFE TO KING SAUL (I Samuel 27:1)

It is hard to imagine this is the same David that killed the giant. But still fear gripped his heart and he worried that Saul would kill him. Did Saul Kill David? No, He worried for nothing!

2. ELIJAH RAN AWAY WHEN JEZEBEL THREATENED TO KILL HIM (I Kings 19:1-8)

Again it is hard to imagine that this is the man of God, who prayed fire from heaven and defeated Ahab and all the prophets of Baal on Mt. Carmel. Elijah ran and sat down under the Juniper tree and desired to die and said it is enough! Did Jezebel kill Elijah? No, He worried for nothing!

3. THE PEOPLE AT THE RED SEA WORRIED THAT PHAROAH WOULD KILL THEM (Ex. 14)

God had delivered his people out of Egyptian Bondage. Now they worried and murmured and said I wish we would have stayed in Egypt... Now we are going to die! --- Did the people perish?

No... Moses said, Stand Still and see the Salvation of the Lord! --- The Red Sea opened up and they crossed over on dry land! --- They worried for nothing!

4. KING DARIUS WORRIED ALL NIGHT ABOUT DANIEL IN THE LIONS DEN (Dan. 6)

Did the Lions kill Daniel? No, Praise the Lord the next morning Daniel was OK, for God had sent an angel and closed the jaws of the lions --- The Lions didn’t want to eat Daniel... because he was all backbone. King Darius worried for nothing!

5. THE WOMEN ON RESURRECTION MORNING WORRIED HOW THEY WOULD MOVE THE

STONE AND GET IN TO THE BODY OF JESUS (Mk. 16:3)

But Praise the Lord when they got there. --- The stone had been rolled away! --- The angel said,

Why seek ye the living among the dead. He is not here, He is risen! - They worried for nothing!

6.PETER WORRIED THAT BECAUSE OF HIS DENIAL OF THE LORD JESUS, IT WOULD NEVER

BE THE SAME (Mt. 26: 69-75)

But Praise The Lord, Jesus Love and Forgave Him! -- Go tell my disciples and Peter too! -- Peter worried for Nothing!

DON’T WORRY - BE HAPPY --- I Peter 5:7 - Casting all your care upon him, for he careth for you!
