Don’t Leave Home Without Him
The Boy Jesus Amazes the Scholars
41 His parents went to Jerusalem every year at the Feast of the Passover. 42 And when He was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast. 43 When they had finished the days, as they returned, the Boy Jesus lingered behind in Jerusalem. And Joseph and His mother did not know it; 44 but supposing Him to have been in the company, they went a day’s journey, and sought Him among their relatives and acquaintances. 45 So when they did not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking Him. 46 Now so it was that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions. 47 And all who heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers. 48 So when they saw Him, they were amazed; and His mother said to Him, “Son, why have You done this to us? Look, Your father and I have sought You anxiously.”
49 And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” 50 But they did not understand the statement which He spoke to them.(Luke 2:41-52)
On the day that we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior we are like a child, because of our inexperience in the word of God.
“But you have not so learned Christ, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness”. (Ephesians 4)
And as newborn Christians we must be mindful and care of the places that we go to. Especially without our new Christ like attitude or personality. we must be mindful of old environments because they become new.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
So sometimes when you approach the old things, as they say the devil or the enemy will raise his ugly head, in you, around you and through you, without you knowing or thinking about it.
And by asking and telling God, and the people you have offended or the people that say to you “I THOUGHT YOU WERE A CHRISTIAN?”
Ask them for forgiveness, to show you mercy, to have compassion and love for you because you are new to the Christian ways.
"But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing."
And you must keep questioning him eagerly and earnestly in an attempt to find the right principle and follow the proper guidelines in attempt to deal with the problem or situation better.
And understand that as a mature Christian you don’t ever have to question Christ.
"When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways."
Jesus got to do, what Jesus got to do, no matter what!
• That God the father instructed him to do.
In other words mature Christians will never question Gods intentions and they will never leave home without a Christian mind set. Always doing what their father instructed them to do and not do.
Amen
Jesus is with me and I must be about My Father’s business !!!!!!!
The New Man
17 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, 18 having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; 19 who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
20 But you have not so learned Christ, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
