Summary: Communion mesage: Don’t stand on the edge.
Communion. “Don’t guess take the test”
The owner of a large warehouse was concerned with profits so much, he decided to make an onsite inspection. He saw a young man leaning up against the wall not working. He went over and said to him how much do you earn each week? The young man said $320. The owner reached into his pocket and pulled out $320 and said you can go now we don’t need you any more. As the young man walked away the warehouse manager arrived and the owner asked him how long that fellow had been working for us. The manager looked as the young man driving away and replied he doesn’t work for us he was here making a delivery. MORAL, DON’T JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS. Jumping to conclusions can be dangerous because the chances of missing are great. When it comes to your salvation jumping to conclusions is eternally hazardous; because the place where you land is where you’ll spend all eternity. Paul told the Corinthians to take the test, undergo a spiritual examination. We need to go to the word of God for a Spiritual examination. Take the test see if you are carnal or Christ like.
The grand canyon, A father was playing a game and made out he was falling over the edge, his intentions was to jump over the edge and land on a ledge just below, he missed and fell 600 feet to his death. Without Christ we all stand on that edge. Where we land is a place called hell. DON’T GUESS, TAKE THE TEST. Cast your cares upon Jesus because he cares for you. Don’t jump to conclusions before this communion. How is your blood pressure are your spiritual arteries clogged, then come to the best heart doctor I know Jesus.
Lord’s Supper Messages
1 Corinthians 11:23-26
The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. --
Communion is a way to remember Christ is coming again, it allows believers to examine their hearts for pure motives. The Lords supper is a way of bringing peace in our hearts through this special act of communication, because Christ’ sacrifice is sufficient to eradicate all guilt, shame, and judgement allowing everyone who receives him to escape hell and enjoy Him eternally. His blood sets us free from any stain, shame, and disgrace that people may try to attach to us. Communion is a means of having deeper fellowship with God’s people. We come to Christ’ table for three reasons, to commemorate his death, to show our dedication, and to celebrate His victory.
Lord Jesus who said Do this in remembrance of me help us at every communion service to look back and remember your death for us on the cross, to look up and know that you are the risen savior among us. To look around and rejoice in our fellowship with one another and to look forward in hope to the coming of your kingdom and the heavenly banquet for your names sake AMEN.
Take this bread and remember the body that was broken for you, Take this cup and remember the blood that was spilt for you.
