DON'T BUY THE LIE

2 Tim. 3:12-14

12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. (KJV)

(RVG04)

13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. (KJV)

(RVG04)

14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; (KJV)

14 Pero persiste tú en lo que has aprendido y te persuadiste, sabiendo de quién has aprendido; (RVG04)

God purchased your soul with the price of His Son on Calvary. Now, we need to live like we appreciate the price that He paid for us. Show that it was worth the price and sacrifice that He gave for us to be free.

1 Co. 6:20

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. (KJV)

(RVG04)

SOME THINGS ARE NOT FOR SALE

When we realize the great value of what has been afforded us, it will cause us to take a stand against all efforts to steal or purchase our highly prized possession.

1 Kings 21:1-3

1 ¶ And it came to pass after these things, that Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard, which was in Jezreel, hard by the palace of Ahab king of Samaria. (KJV)

(RVG04)

2 And Ahab spake unto Naboth, saying, Give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near unto my house: and I will give thee for it a better vineyard than it; or, if it seem good to thee, I will give thee the worth of it in money. (KJV)

(RVG04)

3 And Naboth said to Ahab, The LORD forbid it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee. (KJV)

(RVG04)

Naboth owned a vineyard that had been handed down to him from his father and his grandfather. The king wanted the vineyard because it was close to the palace. He offered a good amount of money, but Naboth was not about to sell it. Its value was greater than money could buy. This was his inheritance and no other temporal item could be offered to persuade him to relinquish.

Only by the evil and deceitful plan of Jezebel, resulting in the death of Naboth, made it possible for Ahab to acquire this property. Naboth paid the ultimate sacrifice while standing by his decision not to sell out to the enemy.

SELLING OUT CHEAP

Mat. 26:14,15

14 ¶ Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, (KJV)

15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. (KJV)

(RVG04)

16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him. (KJV)

Judas knew what it was to be close to Jesus and see and experience His miracles firsthand. But there was a weakness in his life that he never fully gave up to God. He was fascinated with money. He looked for opportunities to acquire more; maybe not to be rich or to have a personal fortune. Possibly it gave him a feeling of prestige or security.

1 Tim. 6:10

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (KJV)

(RVG04)

The enemy offered Judas to sell Jesus for a mere 30 pieces of silver. Judas was deceived and fell for the bait.
