Summary: Being a RINO or DINO will mess up your life, but being a CINO will destroy your eternity.

As I read Catholic and Evangelical leaders trying to "exhort" their congregants to vote against Pro-Abortion candidates, I wonder if they have figured out that many will turn a deaf ear. Just as we have RINOs and DINOS we have RCINOs, BINOs, PINOs, LINOs, etc. To simplify it, CINOs or Christians in name only.

There are many Christians who do not know their bible because they do not read it or they do not read it in context. They are what we called when I was a Baptist SMOs and C&E Christians. Sunday Morning Only and Christmas and Easter Christians. You can add weddings and funerals to that as well.

Indeed, many churches have adapted to this and have dumped Sunday night and Wednesday night services. No sense in turning on the AC and burning the lights for an empty room. Some do have other activities on Sunday nights that are not at the building so for those who have those put down the wooden stake, crosses and holy water. You know I am stating general truth and there are always exceptions.

Christianity is just a tag or hash tag for many. It's something that they got when they were born or got married and is just a tick on their to do list for Sunday, but it is not a high priority. They will be in church if nothing if the fish aren't biting or there is no sports event. It has very little impact on their life.

Some sit under false prophets or in dead or apostate churches and do not know it. They could not debate the doctrines of their church as they may have no idea what the tenets of their church are and they may not care as attending where they are makes them feel good or it is where their friends hang out on Sunday and they go to lunch together afterwards. It is a good place to market your business or find a mate so the teachings are not the main reason they go.

Many have convictions that are not based on Scripture and they will not vote for anyone who does not have all of their convictions hence they do not vote at all no matter who is running because no one will have all of those convictions and if they did, they could not win. This culture is more and more secular so biblical values are not valued in a candidate.

Indeed, the opposite is true. It reminds me of the story of a tribe in the Pacific who thought Judas was a hero when then heard the Gospel. Their cultural beliefs honored betrayal and manipulation making it quite the challenge to show Judas as the bad guy. Like the old gray mare, church and this country ain't what they used to be many long years ago.

While I believe that we need to exhort our people to look to their faith and vote accordingly, we need to be sure our people know what their faith group teaches and find out if they actually believe it. It might be interesting if you created a handout with your church's beliefs on one side and on the other the opposite positions as well as a tick mark space for "Don't Know" "Either or Neither". You may be very shocked.

Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Sometimes, it is the pastor's fault that people do not know any better because he is not teaching them the truth, Yet, they are not excused.

2Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

When we stand before God, we will not be asked what our leaders did with the Word, but rather what we did with it. Despite your upbringing and cultural perspectives, you are commanded to do your own due diligence.

Acts 17:10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. 11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

I often told my hearers/readers to go home and study to make sure I knew what I was talking about rather than just quoting Chairman Ron and putting my quips in a little red book. If I am wrong, do not leave me in my ignorance, but bring me solid exegesis, not your opinion, your Mama's or Grand-mama's opinion or even Dr. Goodwords' opinion on YouTube. Because no opinions count except His.
